This basket is great and the detachable handle is a fantastic add-on. It does discolor very quickly, which is typical of stainless steel and does not impact performance. We use it all the time for our vegetables on the grill. It’s not the easiest to clean, but only because of the little holes everywhere. The sponge gets caught on them and it usually takes two washes to get the stickiness from oil off. It’s not a concern for us, personally, and is not unusual for something like this. Our only complaint is the larger holes for the handle allow vegetables to escape fairly easily from the basket. We’ve lost potatoes, peppers, broccoli, asparagus, cauliflower, and summer squashes through the gaps and into the fiery abyss. We tried blocking them with some foil, but that just created more frustration. Not a dealbreaker, just something to be known. We are still very pleased with this item and would buy again.

I used this in my oven for the first time because I’m more of a fair to moderate weather griller and currently the weather is not cooperating. I washed it with warm soapy water, dried it and inspected it for rough unfinished edges. Fortunately, there were none. The basket is sturdy and has some weight to it. The description says 2.86 lbs., which seems about right. I was interested in this basket because of the removable dividers. The basket comes with two dividers that have small cutout hooks on the ends. The hooks fit into the slots located on the sides of the basket. There are 10 slots which makes it possible to place the dividers in five different positions. The dividers are easy to insert and remove. For easy removal when placing them at the end of the basket, make sure the side with the indentation faces the inside of the basket. The dividers are not flimsy. Four of the slots are at the end of the basket, two on each side. The other six, three on each side, are spread out equally in the middle of basket. When the whole surface area of the basket is needed, the dividers are placed at the end. To create different size cooking areas, the dividers are arranged in the middle slots to create the desired space. The description says the cooking surface is 9" x 12". I'm not sure what was measured to get 9". I measured the flat surface of the basket from the outside and it is 7.25" x 12". I used one divider in the middle and one at the end so I could have a large section for two seafood stuffed salmon steaks from Costco, and a smaller section for asparagus spears. I sprayed the basket with olive oil and wiped up the excess before I put the food in. Since I was using it in the oven, I placed it on a rack and set it on a sheet pan. The meal was delicious, and the pan cleaned up easily. I lost a tiny bit of the stuffing in the salmon when I removed it because of the holes in the basket. I didn't use the handle, but it is sturdy and padded on the end which is nice when squeezing it together to place in one of the four positions on the basket. It's not intended for use on the grill or in the oven while cooking. I thought it was a bit pricey, but I looked up the cost of similar but smaller baskets that I have purchased, and those were about half the cost of this one. Overall, my impression of the basket is favorable, and I look forward to using it on the grill when the weather breaks.

Good quality

This basket is superior in almost every way from anything I’ve used before. Solid construction, a removable insulated handle, and dividers that allow you to keep some items separated. Great for doing garlic cloves separate from larger items. But…the utility of being able to place the removable handle on any of the four sides, allows two holes big enough on the remaining sides to permit smaller items like sliced onion or pepper to fly out. The solution is the dividers which allow you to cover the holes on either short end but not those on the long sides. I’ll be putting a small piece of aluminum foil over them going forward. If they included two more dividers and allowed you to cover the holes it would be perfect.
