Great lesson!
I bought this hoping to help teach my 5 year old son that he doesn’t have to cry and have a meltdown each time he isn’t first, or doesn’t win. He loved the book! Great story and great illustrations!

Very relatable fur a 5 year new to recess.
My kids really love this book and seem to relate. I feel like this is a very realistic depiction of what happens at school and how their friends might react. It also give really great examples of how to react instead. They won’t stop asking me to read it since it arrived.

6yo is no longer a sore loser!!!
Like magic, we read this book last night and my 6 year old just did a board games with me and didn't throw the expected fit when he lost! I can't say of it will work for all children or if the lesson will stick, but it worked wonders and right away for my child.

Cute, Cute Story
I loved this story. It is perfect in teaching kids how to be a good winner and loser! IT has a great one liner in it that I had my social skills kids memorize. Now, when we play games, we focus on that one liner!Perfect for: School psychologists, teachers: special ed and general ed, therapists, psychologists, mental health agencies, P.E. teachers/coaches. Parents.

Helpful for students' understanding good sportsmanship
This is a good book for lower to upper elementary level (grades 2 - 5) . I did use it in a kindergarten class but students had some difficulty sitting through the length of the book and understanding some of the meanings of words.

Great book
I really like this book. This, along with another, has been a great aid in helping my autistic son, who always wants to win, that he will sometimes lose and he MUST congratulate the person who does win. The illustrations are nice, the whole book gives a good explanation of why other kids don't want to play with sore losers etc. I don't like the end saying though ' I've won if I've had fun'. I think this should have been worded differently as my son goes round saying I won I won because I had fun, whereas he didn't win, he came second lol!!
