I used one of the light bulb + sticky pad traps as an indicator of the amount of fleas present. 50+ overnight was bad! Having used a smoke bomb overnight in the room, the next night the count was a more modest 6 or 7. Of course the monitor also affects the population, although the purpose of course is getting rid of the problem, rather than doing controlled science experiments. I used a different sticky pad type after the first night because these new ones were cheaper, but they do nevertheless seem to work. Again not a good ‘control’, but it is what I did. Unless the whole house is simultaneously done there is a risk of transfer, so it is not necessarily the bomb at fault for non-ideal performance. I would say that they are hard to light. I used a long match rather than a standard match. The fuse was resting against the inside wall of the plastic body which made it harder to light. I therefore eased the fuse gently away from the wall, making it more central. Still hard to light thought. Don’t try to use a cigarette lighter! Remember it is a “smoke” bomb. The room will smell a bit smoky for a day, even after good ventilation.

Very easy to use. Seem to work fast. Smell of smoke did linger a bit, but soon gone after ventilation. Did affect the cat a bit, made her eyes run

Performance was great it done exactly what it says it will and it’s easy to use. However. It’s incredibly hard to use if you have many animals or fish/ lizards ect as covering them or moving tanks is a nightmare. Also have to wash everything after use making it a very long job. They are quite expensive but well worth it. I wouldn’t say the safety is great either. Could do with selling them in kits. But generally quite pleased.

Used alongside a spray, this was far more affective and did reduce fleas in my home, however i used two packs of 4 to do a full clear out. Left a lot of smoke which tasted and smelled horrible, however we ventilated the house so it cleared out in about 2 hours, which i think is decent speed. Product is somewhat small would recommend multiple packs for a big home

Wasted £45! We decided to use this product to have a quick pre Winter/central heating de bug of our home. We have two cats and had noticed that they had picked up a couple of fleas from sharing sleeping roosts the garden with the foxes. I bought three packs (12 canisters in all) to ensure deep coverage. Totally followed the instructions. Removed plants/fish tanks/flea treated cats outside for a day. Pre hovered, stripped beds/duvets/cushions and smoke blasted the house for 5 hours but unfortunately the fleas remain. We washed bedding at high heat and disinfected the hoover. Very next day we saw a flea on a freshly washed bedcover. Thought it was a one off, but over the next couple of days we kept seeing them in rooms. Not happy at all.

Does what you need it for

I have read some of the other reviews some give 4 1/2 stars some gift 2.. I’m giving this 1 simply because this product had no effect at all and my problem still exists I’m going to have to purchase something else. I can’t speak for everyone else. The odour lasted for long time but as I say, with no effect, I feel this was a waste of money.

I tried various powders/sprays/aerosols and other potions, nothing worked, I just could not get rid of the fleas in the room. In desperation I tried this - I wish I had done this before the others - it worked first time. The size is deceptive, you think 'surely a small bomb like this won't be able to fill a lounge/diner with the smoke; but it did. I applied it before going to bed and left the room all night. In the morning there was just a faint smell, almost like someone had struck a match. I am really impressed. I have left it almost 2 weeks before writing this review - the fleas have not returned and so I have 3 bombs left to be able to nuke them if they ever do.
