Its great, make some adjustments and get a warranty.
Update 9/7/15: From 4 stars to 5!Working better than ever! After some time of me not playing I pulled it back out for some racing. My plug issue (see below) seemed to be getting worse and I really was becoming annoyed. It would take several tries to get it to boot and calibrate without shutting off from the shock caused by the wheel flying back and forth. The other day I got so annoyed I rammed the plug into the back of it...and felt it slide in firmly. It hasn't been plugged in all the way this whole time. I'm a tad embarrassed but I also know there had to have been something wrong since I had to press it in so hard. But I'm happy to say now that its in firmly I've had zero issues! I'm updating my review to 5 stars for that reason. I recently purchased Project Cars, the wheel seems to get a heck of a work out during that game. It gets warmer than ever and I can smell some hot plastic odor but nothing too bad. I really hope its not too much work for it. Forza 6 is coming soon, hopefully I can continue making positive updates to this wheel!---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Update 1/13/15:Still working! I had put it into storage for a month or so after finishing the Forza titles. Once the DLC was released I dove back in. I was terrified to plug the wheel back in, it started immediately but the nagging plug issue I've had since I bought it was an issue. It took several tries of unplugging and wiggling the power cable on the back of the wheel before it stayed on steadily. If anyone else is having this problem I can suggest this "fix" or work around: Turn your wheel all the way to the left before plugging it in. The wheel does some sort of testing while starting up, it turns all the way to the left, slamming into the stopper and then goes right. My problem is when it hits the left it must be enough movement to make the power cable lose connection. Once I started leaving the wheel at the full left position it seemed to work. I'll admit I'm not pleased with having to do this every time on a wheel I paid $300+ for, but its still the best option without making a warranty claim.-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------I bought was pretty unsure about buying this wheel after reading the reviews. I let out an exhale after it worked right away and again after a few hours of play. It seemed to be fine. I immediately downloaded Forza Horizon 2 while I tried it out on Forza 5. It feels great. I came from the Xbox 360 racing wheel, which I liked a lot. But this wheel feels more realistic, certainly more powerful in the force feedback. It reminds me of playing 90's arcade racing games. I always loved and was amazed by the feel of a quality San Francisco Rush cabinet. I had never driven a car at that point in life but it just felt...real. This is the first time I've had that same level of power at home. I will note it's important to play with the settings. I'll share one tip that made things feel a lot better in the Forza games, change the wheel rotation from 900 degrees to 330. It may not be perfect for all but it feels so much better in those games. The steering feels tight and responsive, when you switch to the in car view you can see the drivers hands matching your movement. Before switching those settings I'd have to crank that wheel so far to one direction it was hard to correct it. I'm sure some will love that more realistic feel of 900 degree rotation but I believe most will feel more comfortable with the 330.The wheel is plastic, which is slightly disappointing for the price but not a deal breaker for me. The pedals feel especially cheap but once they are bolted or attached to a wheel stand you'll hardly notice. There is a fan in the wheel that kicks on during heavy use and I've yet to noticed hot air coming from the unit. It doesnt seem like it will overheat easily. Now to the negative:The day after I set it up I eagerly went to play, it started up again but during its Left to right wheel check it died. I thought that was it, but after touching the power cable it started up again and died...again. I soon found out the problem was a loose connection between the power supply and cord. I've not read of anyone having this same problem. When I played and barely bumped the power cord dangling from the unit it would lose power. I'd have to fully unplug from the back and plug it back in. Once I mounted it to my racing stand and zip tied the power cable to where it wouldnt move the problem has mainly stopped. I'm still wrestling with myself on whether to return for a new one from Amazon, or just feel lucky my problem isn't as severe as others. I have set up an RMA with Amazon after contacting support and getting no response after 3 days. The response I got was not very satisfactory, but I will admit I'm hard to please when it comes to that. Especially when Amazon is great and will take it back at no cost to me. I do think I'll keep it and just deal with the slight annoyance.Pros:-Feels great!-Seems to be the best option available right now.-Powerful Force Feedback-Xbox One & PC support (Have not used it on PC)-Really adds to the racing experience.Cons:-Reliability issues (read recommendation below)-Feels slightly cheap-Price: I'd feel better if this were priced at $249-$279Recommended!-BUY A WARRANTY! Seach Squaretrade warranty and choose "Electronics - Other", be sure to choose the proper price range. I would not have kept this wheel if I didn't buy the 3 year warranty for under $30. Its well worth the piece of mind. Square trade has been great with other warranties I've purchased.-Attach this bad boy to a stand! Its too powerful for your lap, you can try it but the base isn't set up for it. If you're a male, you will probably not enjoy slamming your legs closed to support the small base. I tried using a dinner tray and that was miserable. It was too high and too wobbly. If you can't afford the $100 for the cheapest stand you can attempt what I did. I spent $20 on some lumber, brackets, screws and velcro to build a very crude stand. I'm not very handy and the wife had a good laugh at it but it saved me $80 extra dollars for the cheap stand. If you choose to build your own, think simple. I built a simple base platform for the pedals, an extra piece of wood at the back to keep the pedals from sliding off, used some velcro to stick the pedals down for extra support and use a 2x4 and piece of particle board to go between my legs and mount the wheel on. I'll include the picture, keep in mind it was before I tied down all of the wires.

Great Wheel, Especially the Replacement!
I'm giving this product the highest marks, since it performs very well, but I have had issues with it.I ordered this in early mid-April, to use with the X-Box One I also ordered. I like the Forza Motorsport "game" from Microsoft, and hardly ever use the X-Box for any other games. I have had the X-Box 360 with Forza 3 and 4 since 2010, and thoroughly enjoyed playing them with the Microsoft Force Feedback Wheel. As Microsoft isn't making a wheel (yes, they show the Mad Catz on their website, but it isn't a Microsoft wheel), I read the reviews of the Thrustmaster TX and bought it. I did read that some of the users had problems, but like some of them, I thought that my careful use would ensure that I wouldn't be among them. The wheel arrived, and after following the manufacturer's instructions about updating first, I installed it. It worked GREAT! The use of this wheel with the physics of the X-Box One Forza 5 game made a very realistic experience. Simulation jumped from an "arcade-y" imitation to a sense of driving real road cars.I did notice that the wheel required me to reset a lot, having to remove the USB plug and re-insert as the FF would disappear. Also, sometimes the fan noise of the motor cooling would continue indefinitely after shutting down the X-Box, and would only stop if I removed the USB plug. Also, I would periodically notice that distinctive "motor-smell" of electric motor malfunction, though I never saw any "smoke".I used the wheel for approx 10-12 hours, intermittently, of game-play over a three-week period, taking care to allow the unit to cool down if I'd used it for an hour or more. Then, 6 days ago, the wheel suddenly shut-down in the middle of a race...as if the power was removed. I carefully checked everything, and when it would not light up again, I allowed it to cool for several hours to see if that helped. Nothing. After two days of trying, I contacted Thrustmaster by email, and they responded rather quickly. They had a list of suggestions to try, and I tried them all. Still no power. But, there was that smell I noted before, and this time it didn't seem to go away.I contacted Amazon, and chose Replacement, and received a new wheel in 48 hours! Can't beat that!I installed the new wheel yesterday, and it is running beautifully. I will note that I am having none of the issues that I had experienced with the original wheel by this point of game-play. I have not had to re-boot, nor have I observed fan noise and motor smell. I am very happy with the actual use of this wheel, especially compared to the old Windows Microsoft Force Feedback Wheel and the X-Box 360 FF Wheel. And all of them are miles ahead of the Mad Catz wheel I also have and discarded with the X-Box 360.An update: after a week or intermittent use, this new wheel is performing flawlessly. I haven't had to reboot while using it, and the fan only kicks on once-in-a-while, and for brief periods. I will note that, apparently, you should unplug the wheel's USB from the X-Box, even when it is off. I found the wheel's fan on this morning, though the X-Box One had been turned off hours ago. I could find no advice for this from Thrustmaster.Second week update: wheel still performing very well. My only complaint would be that it will not retain the wheel-turn setting when the USB plug is removed and re-inserted. By this I mean that I like to use the wheel with a 270-degree setting, rather than the 900-degree setting the wheel resets to as "default". When I plug the USB into my computer to use the Thrustmaster Control Panel, it says the wheel is currently set to 270-degrees. However, when I re-plug into the X-Box, I always have to go to the Controller Settings tab, which is somewhat obscure, and change the settings in the Forza game to 270; once done, all works well. Compared to the issues I had with the original wheel, I can live with this glitch.

5 STAR WHEEL, 3 STAR PEDALS
WHEEL ALONE EARNED THE 5 STAR REVIEW AFTER 3 MONTHS OF HARD USAGE. PEDALS ARE NOT AWFUL BUT WILL NEED UPGRADING, THE PEDALS WOULD EARN a 3 STAR REVIEW, THEY ARE THE SAME PEDALS FROM THE VG SET, SO DON"T EXPECT MUCH.These pedals have been used HARD for 3-4 months and no problems. If you plan to make this your first force feedback steering wheel like I did remember the wheel and pedals need to be mounted to a base. The wheel has a temporary vise-like mount but it still twists and worst of all, gets in the way while driving. The pedals do not offer much resistance like higher quality pedal sets which was a big reason they scored so low on my review, but it is still enough to walk like a dog if they are not mounted and unlike the wheel, there is no temporary mount to hold it in place.I have only used this wheel for xbox 1 games, but if you plan to use it for the PC the force feedback can be dialed higher than compared to the xbox 1. There seems to be plenty of feedback while playing games such as FORZA 2 or HORIZON 2, but make sure that the games you plan to use the wheel for is compatible. (You can visit Thrustmaster's website to check, FYI the page appears quite dated and downloading software updates for the wheel was somewhat confusing for me)And don't forget the TX system is modular, meaning the cheap pedals can be replaced, the wheel currently has 2 main other options to suit your fancy, and even a gear shifter can be added to immerse yourself in the race car experience. If you plan to use the wheel and pedals properly, especially if you plan on buying the gear shifter, you need to be looking for a seat/mount known as a racing rig. There are many brands but Playseat will give you an example. Not only does are the wheel & pedals costly after adding the add-ons but a proper racing rig will also cost valuable space in your living room, but to a die hard racing simulator fan it will be worth it !!!

If it breaks, you need a PC to get help
Looking at the number of broken units, I had avoided buying one and was just waiting for the MadCatz. Unfortunately, MadCatz delayed their wheel until middle of the summer. So, I crossed my fingers and hoped I might get a Thrustmaster that worked. Umm, well it did work for 6 days. Then the right paddle shifter broke. It no longer shifts gears.I called tech support. I say that the right paddle shifter doesn't work. The tech dude told me to hook it up to a PC and use some software to verify the button is broken. I mentioned to the tech guy that I bought it for the Xbox one, not a PC....can't I diagnose the problem on the platform that I bought the wheel for? "No, to diagnose a problem, you need a PC". I reply "Well, I currently have a Mac". "Oooh, well you can't use that" he says. I point out that I also own a PS4 (Nope, won't work), a XBox 360 (no go), a PS3 (Oh heck no) and multiple IPads and android tablets (What No, those aren't PCs). I've got every device known to man at the moment, but a PC (I've owned many in my life...at the moment I have a Mac because all my machines at work at Macs). The helpful tech guy suggested I call friends to find a PC. I even tried. I called 5. I found 2 more macs and 3 people who only own tablets. All of this just to verify to some dude on the phone that I'm not lying that my shifter is broken. Really, isn't it enough for me to call and just tell you the shifter isn't doing a thing? Do you need software to verify that "Yup, this isn't a crank call.....again". At this point, I gave up and told the tech I was sending it back to Amazon for a refund. He seemed unsurprised. I think this is the way Thrustmaster avoids having to pay much money for tech support.Selling a device for one platform the requires a different platform to diagnose problems (especially in a device with such poor quality control) is absolutely idiotic. So, that in my mind rates something like -10 stars. Unfortunately I can't give them that for being the biggest dummies I've seen in a very long time.At to my impression when the wheel did work:1) I did like it, even if it seemed like lots of plastic parts.2) I had to turn down the FF in Forza to something like 25%. Otherwise, my shoulders got tired fighting the wheel. Very strong FF.3) Pedals spring seemed to be a bit strong for my taste. Significantly stronger than any of my current vehicles.4) The calibration is downright frightening. Plug the wheel in and it whips rapidly clockwise till it hits the hard stop (with a very loud thunk that probably isn't very good for the plastic) It then whips counterclockwise about 2/3 of the way, stops and flips clockwise until the wheel stops....upsidedown. That is until you press A to enter Forza, at which point, it instantaneously flips rightside up. I think if you get your fingers in there at any point during the calibration, you'd lose your hand, and possibly your arm up to the shoulder. The manual says 'For ages 16 and up'. I suspect that's because if someone smaller were to use it, the wheel would just eat the child instead of mangling a limb.5) You need to connect to the xbox using a USB cable. Annoying, but I decided I'd live with it. However, Thrustmaster very graciously gives you a whole whopping 6 ft cable of USB cable (hard wired to the wheel, mind you). Cause, you know, apparently all of us have tiny living rooms that are less than 6 ft wide. The did graciously include a breakaway connector. That way when you've rearranged your living room to cram your couch less than 6 feet away from your 50" TV, if your kids decide to dart in front of the remaining 3 feet between your TV and your table that you've mounted the wheel to, it'll break away. Nevermind the cavernous 40 feet of unused living room space behind the couch that the kids are now designating an indoor wilderness region. Maybe Thrustmaster only thought you'd use it with a dedicated driving seat setup. But then why the breakaway cable? No one darts between the seat and the TV mounted on the rigid frame in front of it unless they want to whack their shins on welded metal scaffolding. I did buy a USB extension so I could at least stop cursing Thrustmaster for being idiots (well, at least for a couple of days).

Third wheel working fine, several lessons learned
10 Mar Update - Well, with over 3000 miles and 38 hours of actual track time, this third wheel is performing well. My guess is that after all the problems and complaints with the early wheels, TM has focused on getting the bugs worked out and are now shipping wheels that work. Forza 5 does get a little boring after an hour or so due to the limited number of tracks but that's probably good because one could spend too much time in front of the tube. Besides, spring is coming and the back country roads are calling.21 Feb update. I got tired of looking at my unused XB1 so I ordered a third wheel from Amazon. I have also been in frequent contact with TM tech support who have been fairly responsive and seem interested in helping me get a wheel that works and address other issues. Went through the update on PC and connected the new wheel to the XB1. I have put about 20 hrs of actual track time over a dozen sessions and this wheel is working great. There have been some important learnings which might benefit other customers.1. First, I do think my first wheel died, but I'm not sure on the second. The second wheel updated fine but would not work when connected to the XB1 console (so I sent it back). My third wheel worked for several sessions then one day it would not work at all. I was connected to one of the rear USB ports as recommended by TM TS in an earlier email. I thought I had another dead wheel. Not wanting to return another wheel I started playing around with the Xbox1. I connected the USB cable to the other USB port on the rear of the Xbox console. Nothing. I decided to try the side USB port. The wheel WORKED! Now I wondered if I had a defective console. I unplugged the console power cord for 60 seconds and plugged it back in again. Both rear USB ports now worked. Could this have been the problem with my second wheel? Could this be the problem many others are experiencing? There are not many things that use the USB ports on the Xbox1 console at this time so people may not know whether the wheel or the USB port is the cause of a wheel failing to work. If you smell something in the wheel burning it is probably a wheel fault but if the wheel just doesn't work after successful updating, try repowering the console. I haven't had this problem again.2. When I updated the firmware I also followed the FAQ recommendations on the TM site and used the TM TX control panel on the PC to adjust the wheel performance settings. But it never seemed to have much effect on my driving. I asked TM TS about this and they told me that their control panel will ONLY AFFECT THE WHEEL FOR PC PLAY. That was a surprise, because one could not know that from the TM website (I have recommended they change several things on their website and also consider creating a forum for customers to share experience and insights on their products). TM states the XB1 OS is the only thing that controls the performance of the wheel. In Forza5, go to Profile/controller/advanced settings(X). TM recommends steering, accel, & decell deadzones be set at zero inside and 100 outside (other customers have recommended same). They believe customer preference should dictate other settings. I use 80-90 for FFB because 100 felt a little artificial to me but to each their own. I am still experimenting with DOR. Tending toward 400 for the one P car I have. Other cars seem less critical but I'm still not satisfied with all cars. Would like to see some intelligent discussion on this topic.3. Other minor things are that the fan on the wheel base will sometimes run forever until I disconnect the USB cable. TM addresses this on their FAQs but it would be nice if the temp sensor would stay active when XB1 is off and shut the fan off when base is cool. According to TM, the TX pedals are what they are to meet the price point which I understand. Hopefully the upcoming optional pedals will be much better.I raised my rating to 4. Better pedals and guidance on setting up the system would make it a 5. But for me, this wheel makes XB1 and F5 worth owning.12 Jan update - Well, I have just exchanged more emails with Thrustmaster Tech Service. The are very slow in responding each time. The latest response stated that the can't assure me that I will be able to get a live person to help solve the problem if I buy a third wheel and it fails. I asked them many specifics and they came back with basically a "we will do our best to help" general line, which hasn't worked so far.In considering whether to buy a third wheel I did a quick survey of the reviews here on Amazon. I looked at "verified purchases" vs non-verified as I put a lot more faith in verified (the others can be shills, who knows). Here are the results. There are (as of now) reviews from 18 verified, 6 with 3-5 stars, 12 (67%) with 1-2 stars and a total 11 totally dead wheels. That is a very high percentage of dead wheels implying a serious quality problem. Interesting, the 14 un-verified reviews were far more positive, 8 - 3-5 stars and 6 - 1-2 stars. It could be that the people who bought wheels from Amazon and haven't had problems are just not writing reviews, only Amazon and Thrustmaster know for sure. But if that was the case, why would people who didn't buy here be more inclined to go to Amazon to post a positive review. My guess is that looking at verified purchasers gives you the most accurate assessment as to what is going on. And right now, this product looks like it has some serious problems. That's not to say that every wheel is going to die but the odds appear to be against you until Thrustmaster solves whatever problems they have. This a real bummer for me as Forza 5 is the only reason I bought the XB1.23 Dec - Supplement to final update.Yesterday I found the only TX Wheel in GameStop's system in PA and drove an hour to get it. Did the update but when I went to play FM5 the wheel wouldn't power up. The wheel twitched and the red power light flashed briefly then died. Returned this 2nd wheel today. This is so frustrating.Microsoft, if you are reading this, you must line up enough reliable suppliers to supply your customers with the tools necessary to use your products. Do what Apple does (most of the time) and make sure the customer's total experience is positive and relatively hassle free. I have been a loyal MS customer since 1980 (MS DOS) but with this XBOX 1 and a less than perfect experience with Windows 8, I probably bought my last MS product.20 Dec - Final updateThis is my final update because my wheel failed to power up today. I unplug it when not in use and when I plugged it in today the wheel twitched and that was it. Nothing I could do would bring it to life. I checked my FM5 stats and I have used the wheel for 54 minutes of actual racing over 2 sessions (seemed longer than that) so I haven't run this wheel into the ground. It appears from reading other reviews that this failure is not uncommon. Returning unit to Amazon (thanks Amazon)5 Dec updateAfter updating firmware and playing on Forza 5 for another hour, I think the wheel is very good. The update and/or adjustments in the control panel took some of the extreme movements out of the play and now it feels very realistic. I still fly off the track occasionally but now I think it is 98% on me. I did add a 6' USB extension (Amazon basics) between the wheel and console with no effect on performance. The stock cable was a little too short for where I have the console and my 60" TV. I was just a little too close to the TV.I have raised my rating to 4 but I would honestly rate it 4.5. Flex in the wheel unit and slightly light weight construction of the pedals keep it from a 5. But given its price vs Fanatec, it's very close to a 5.Original reviewHave spent an hour or so with this wheel/pedals unit. Going to give it 3 for now (MS Xbox 360 =1 and Fanatec Forza Motorsport CSR Elite Wheel =5) Feels like many of the responses are lagging the steering and pedal inputs. Hard braking sometimes results in an out of control which I haven't experienced in other games nor on the track (although to be fair I haven't driven any of the cars in the game on a real track, only Porsches) Has good (if not a bit exaggerated) resistance in the wheel during hard turning which is fairly realistic for the higher performance, wide tire cars I have driven so far. I'm hoping the mid Dec update their site references resolves these initial flaws. The wheel construction and design seems consistent with the price point. There are a few cheap looking bits and the wheel flexes a little around the turning axis but its not bad. Pedals offer better feel than MS set but have a ways to go to simulate a real car. I was surprised most by the fact that the unit connects to the console through a PS2 connector (according to the tech support rep) and needs an adaptor (included) to provide a USB connection to the console. I have no idea why they didn't have a USB cable from the start and would appreciate others' input on this.Once I get the firmware update and put a few more hrs into it I'll try to update this review. Ultimately I hope Fanatec works out a deal with MS.

Updated: July '16 - Warranty/repair problems
When it works, it is great. When it doesn't, it's horrible. I bought one new from the Microsoft Store. It died within 24 hours (seems to be a disturbingly common experience). I was going to exchange it when I saw one advertised "used in 'good' condition" from Amazon. When I received it, it was obviously new (twist ties not removed, pristine, like new except original box missing). It worked perfectly right out of the [generic] box and has been perfect for 72 hours of hard use. The features are great: the force feedback is very realistic and it has 'road feel' that has to be experienced to be believed. Bumps, braking, skidding and acceleration all are reflected in the wheel. It truly adds another dimension to Forza 5. Yes, it's pricey. Yes, if you're a serious gaming racer, it's worth it. I bought a wheel stand to enhance it further: http://www.amazon.com/dp/B0061EER58/ref=pe_385040_30332200_pe_309540_26725410_item. UPDATED REVIEW; Recently I've had some bad experience with Thrustmaster. The proudly tout a 2-year warranty on their (European) website, but you have to go to the fine print to discover it's only ONE YEAR in the US and Canada. So when my wheel died on 7/16 I was disappointed to be told it was no longer under warranty. Fair enough, but publicize equally what your policy is, TM. Further, I would have to pre-pay shipping for repair - to Canada, pay all duties (which tend to be high) in advance, and pay a $60 non-refundable fee for them to look at it. It is obvious to me that THRUSTMASTER DOES NOT WANT NORTH AMERICA BUSINESS. I have changed my review to reflect this.

Cost vs. Quality and TX vs Logitech G27
I truly enjoy this item. I purchased two of them for a Forza motorsport competition I hosted a few months ago and we absolutely had a blast.I have also gotten a chance to compare the Logitech G27 steering wheel for pc with the TX, and there are a few things I feel I need to say. I did purchase the Ferrari GTE F458 Wheel for one of the wheels, but for the sake of this review, I will not compare it against the G27.TX vs. G27The TX has much better feel in the force feedback than the G27 hands down. I love how smooth it rides when I hit a jump, bump, curb, another car, etc., rather than the crazy jolt you get when you do the same on the G27.The TX does work well for both Xbox and PC(the only systems I own), whereas the G27 is not intended for Xbox.Sadly, as everyone knows about the TX is that it is crazy more expensive then the G27. You pay a good $150 more for just the wheel and the peddles then you do the G27 with the stick and the clutch.Honestly, I would say that you need to look at the reason you are purchasing this item. If you need a wheel for Xbox One, you are going to need to get the TX(unless you look up one of those adapters on Youtube that supposedly let you use the G27 on Xbox). If you want a cheep one that does it all for your pc, why are you looking here? get out of here! The G27 is a much better deal. If you aren't sure what you are going to need it for in the future, this baby works with pc and is up-gradable to do the same as the G27 and better(for MUCH higher price, yeah). You may be asking how the quality is of the TX or if everything is functional with the buttons...?The peddles are disturbing(at least the original gas and break) and do not stick well at all to the ground. If you place them on a wooden floor and give them a good push like you are applying the break and they are not braced by something, you are just going to push the entire peddle system. No joke. I usually have to set my left foot on one side to keep the peddles from moving away from me with my pushing. As far as the wheel quality, I mean... It does feel quite cheaply made and you feel like you just got ripped off. They could have put better material on the wheel. If you hold it in your hand when the wheel is not installed, you will wonder how they could get it so light.I do not want to give this thing a bad rating because of what I have seen before, but because you have to take into consideration price over all. They have a great in game control engine, but a bad user feel experience. If you have cash to spend, go all out and buy the upgrades(If you can find a place that sells them, lol). They are worth it and you won't want to go back. If you just can't spend that much, this is still a fun control, but as default, does cost to much for what you may be looking for...Good luck, and apologies if somethings didn't make as much seance. YouTube is a great place to find reviews as well. I knew what I was getting full well and I still use this wheel for my games.

Do yourself a favor...just buy the servo base and the upgraded kit.
If you are thinking about this, unless you have a really tight budget and can ONLY afford $300, go purchase the servo base, the T3PA or Pro pedals, and one of the upgrade rims. You will get an infinitely better kit. Honestly IMO, the best mid-rage kit you can find.I originally purchased a G27. Its it was nice, save of course the LOUD clatter, the notchy gears and the dead feeling pedals.I purchased the 458 Italia version. Sure the licensed design is nice for looking just like the Ferrari wheel...only in kid's size. The included pedals are no good, though.I purchased this, enjoyed its servo and force feedback greatly. But I very quickly added the Leather GT wheel and the T3PA Pro petals that you can invert. Now the included rim and pedals are lost somewhere in my garage. With a real, metal hooped wheel and all steel petals this servo base combines to make a wonderful kit for zooming around in the digital world. I mounted all this to a Wheel Stand Pro stand which works well for my "no room for proper sim rig" home as I can move my kit to a corner out of the way when I am not racing. The servo is great. It uses high quality rubber belts and a very strong motor to simulate feedback and give you a sense of what is going on. It has the bonus of smooth operation and QUIET operation. No clatter here. There is a bit of "notch" feeling when running this wheel around while the kit is not powered up, because the belts inside are toothed, but one you are up and racing any sense of that disappears with its smooth, accurage FFB. Its very strong too. Simply put how strong is this? I run it at 80%, and I'm a pretty sturdy person and like a wheel feedback level in the "mess me up" strength. I think if they had made it any stronger it would enter the zone of actually causing injury. Its a quiet wheel too, its action making almost no noise at all. The best you will hear is the ventilation fan going between races. Its also got the bonus of being Crap-Box One comparable so if you like your Forza cheese this is the way to go. To get better on the crap-box you need to visit Fanatec and you better bring like $1.6k to party with them. It should be noted its plainly evident Forza's wheel support is an afterthought, as its got total crap FFB.The wheel also has the abilty to adjut the sensitivity and total degree of Rotation with button presses, making it great for use with crap games like Forza that throw 360 or 540 degree wheel settings at you in the cars, but with no in-game or in-system settings for setting the DOR. Thus a few button presses and you will have a 1:1 relation between the virtual car's steering and your physical wheel again. The logitech hardware cannot do this. The build quality overall is great. I have this hard mounted to my wheel stand pro with bolts. The bold mounts are fixed very tightly into the frame of the servo. The spindle for the wheel is plastic, but its a hard, thick plastic and fits very sturdy. I wouldn't dream of grabbing the wheel to move this kit around but I haven't sensed even the slightest flex or wobble while using it. And given I have to move this into place to play, I appreciate they used lighter plastic. Between the shiftier, the pedals and the all-steel stand my kit is already over 50 pounds. My only real complaint is that Thrustmaster so far refuses to make a 14 full sized wheel for use with this. Their 10" rims are pretty good, but it would be nice to have "real" car sized rim.

A high-end wheel for Xbox One
The force feedback in this beast is spot on. It works excellent with Forza and Horizon series on the Xbox One. It apparently works on PC also, but I have not tried it. It's a bit expensive when you compare it to the cheap wheels typically available for consoles, but you get what you pay for. This is a big upgrade from your typical console wheel. Anyone that loves sim-racers on Xbox one will be very impressed with it. Those hardcore PC sim racers may prefer an even more expensive wheel, but I dare say even the most hardcore would be impressed with the quality of this wheel.I highly recommend getting a strong structure to mount it. It is not suited to sit on your lap, and a coffee table or TV tray will not cut it.

great product. weak breakaway USB cable (cheap fix)
the detachable bit on the end of the USB cable was weak and broke within a month or two so buy a replacement immediately. This seems to be a problem many are having. The problem manifests itself as anything from the wheel doing nothing when plugged in, to the wheel powering on but not centering after calibration. Just search (Controller USB Breakaway Cable) for a new one. other than that, a great product. Still works perfectly after months of hard usage both on xbox and PC. very strong feedback and nice feel. paddle shifters have a solid feel and are metal which is nice and the wheel is wrapped in a nice rubber which has not deteriorated.
