Q: Where is this set made?

The set I have says made in Poland, really nice workmanship.

Q: Are the chess pieces weight at the base to prevent being knocked over?

Don't believe there is any actual weight in the bases of the pieces but they are very stable and I never worry about them tipping over. A magnetic game board might be the best solution if knocking over the pieces is a worry.

Q: King's height on 18.5 inch board?

I gave the chess set to my relatives, so I can’t give an accurate measurement. But it is a good and beautiful set

Hi! and Hello!!! My purchase is the 16.0 inch by 16.0 inch Chess Set!!! I have purchased several Chess Sets without a board, but the King received with this purchase is 3.1/8 inches in height when you include the felt bottom!!!
