What is the length of the sides of the 6x8 model?

It is 6x8. Nicely made cover. Doesn't blow around like a tarp.

I'm know it's not the proper use but what is the weight capasity? Thinking of using this with my ladder rack as a hammock. Would it support 200lbs?

I think it would work just fine for your hammock. The grommets are well sewn and the material is extremely strong. I have put it through a LOT over the past year, using it once a week at the minimum. I stretch it with bungee cords over tough desert scrub with no tears. This thing is built to last!
