this device is not something I would recommend for a parent to attempt to install unassisted, but I was able to successfully install and register it with minimal difficulties. and the few that did occur were minor questions that a quick search resolved. expect to program from the keypad and do some pre-reading on installation while waiting for the delivery and it will be fine. we couldn't be happier we are able to update the alarm on our recently purchased home without having to deal with the usual ADT types out there.

They should clearly state within the description that in the event your internet service goes down, you will ONLY receive alarm alerts and not be able to control your panel via the cell backup. I have other cell backups at other properties and they all provide full panel control in the event of internet outages. I have to replace 2 other cell backups but will not be using these again.

Had to update my DSC communicator. 3G is almost phased out. A new LTE DSC communicator costs over $300. I removed the old communicator, replaced it with this one, moved my monitoring to EyezON (for less than half of the cost). I couldn’t be happier. Great products, great support. Note: I had to reprogram the DSC panel and disable the old communicator, and also disable the Periodic Test Transmission functions to stop nuisance trouble indications. It’s not difficult, but you need the installer code to do it.
