Very pleased; Easy to use
I'm very pleased with the scanning capabilities with this unit. It has a "Build Job" function that allows you to copy 2-sided documents (as 2 separate jobs), and combine them into a single job, resorting the pages into the proper order, and deleting any blank pages. Then save as PDF doc, so it's in order like the original. You can also tweak each doc for lighter or darker, color, etc. MUCH better than any scanner I had before. The WI-FI connection was an annoying hassle (unsuccessful after multiple tries), so I gave up and just ordered a long USB cable. Now it works ALL the time.

patience and careful installation
High quality printer. Once installed physically and technically every thing about the printer is working very well.

WASTE OF TIME AND MONEY. DO NOT BUY. *** DO NO BUY ***
40 years of using a computer, went to college for computer science and I can't get this thing to work from day one. Keeps saying error unknown. Waste of time. Most difficult thing IT related I have ever come across. Xerox needs to fix this. I would give this a NEGATIVE 5 STARS IF I COULD.

Love it. Great price for a B&W Laser Printer
Great value and features. So far very happy with it. I understand this is one of few printers that can use generic brand toner cartridges and not have to deal with embedded chips in the cartridges that force you to only buy over-priced cartridges from their company.

Good printer
Pretty good printer for the price. Print quality is excellent. Wi-Fi setup and installation was simple and Windows recognized it immediately without a hassle. I would strongly recommend going to the Xerox product page and downloading all the updated software for it. Scanning was very easy but I just wish that it could scan two sided sheets. It does have a batch scanning setting, so that helps. Toner life is pretty bad. I haven't printed that much and the app says that it's low on toner. It does have different quality settings that may extend toner life.

Great little printer, scanner and copier
Professional quality printer, copier, scanner affordable for home office. Print quality is good, as is scan quality. Only limitation vs a Canon it replaced, you can't scan 2 sided documents in the automatic document feeder. Scanning is available either one page on glass or in bulk with document feeder but doc feeder handles only 1 sided pages. Can print 2 sided no problem, just can't scan 2 sided. Otherwise just as good as a much larger and more expensive Canon it has replaced.

wanted to try something new, would not repeat that mistake here again
my 1st laser printer was an okidata around 30 years ago. after they stopped making printers I moved to brother. my 1st brother (still on my network and running) was solid and was not a problem child. I upgraded to my 2nd brother only because I wanted wireless. the next printer was a multi function to handle some requirements I had for work. all 3 printers, I just set up and they worked. even the multi function was straight forward all the way down to the app for printing/scanning from my phone. this thing, you need to screw with it far more to even plug in the power. all the way down the paper tray has to be adjusted to place in standard sized paper, it's annoying to have to spend extra time. then you get to configure a ton of options. usually I enjoy setting up a new toy but this one was a true pain. I haven't even installed the xerox sw on my computers but the apps alone said I'm done. the brother, 3 mins and I'm done. xerox is an act of congress to set it up. after 20 mins, I uninstalled my phone mess and said phone printing will be the old printer only. value wise for the toner, it seems like they call it a start pack rated for only like 1200 pages. one of my main criteria is all printers must handle larger print jobs. I have for years printed documents that were several hundred pages for work. commercial or work printers are used but sometimes I need it now so my home printers have to be up the task. with all my other printers, they just work. if I have to spend extra money to bring this unit up to the same standard as my other ones, you're looking at enough money the value is out the window. not quite as bad as inkjet printer value but enough to say this was a bad deal. the sole purpose of getting another printer was my gf didn't like going alllllllll the way downstairs to get something off the printer or set up the scan. this printer was a pure convenience, nothing else. while it does offer (have not confirmed but pretty sure) more functions like secure printing vs an older printer, I would not purchase xerox again. too many things to have to configure for a proper deployment. at home I want to do, be done, move on to next task. this was not the choice for that. if I could trade it in for a later model brother that was pound for pound close to the same, in a heartbeat I'd jump at the offer.

Suposed to be Linux compatible. Only the printer part is, scanner, no.
Connected to my Linux box. Printer connected automatically. Nothing on the scanner. Tried to contact support, but you need to register first and you need the serial # to do that. Web site says it is on the back of the printer. It isn't. When I finally got to talk to a human, she didn't know were it was either. Took 3 more people to finally tell me it is on a tiny label about the paper tray, inside the printer. OK, on to the next problem. The person who knew where the serial 3 was wasn't tech support, so on to person #5. She didn't know what Linux was or even how to spell it. Person #6 only sent me an email with a link to a supposed solution to the problem. Didn't work. Person then told me I would get a call back with 24 hours from someone who could help. 2 days later, nothing. Found a solution, I bought ($49.95) a program called Viewscan, it found the scanner in seconds and for the price it allows me to install on 4 computers.
