Excellent product ... but be VERY careful with your measuring and cutting!
I used this for the sidelights by my front door. It does an excellent job letting in light but giving me the privacy I want. The directions to cut and install were excellent and everything worked quite well. However, I learned a couple of things in the process that should help you with a better result. 1. Measure very carefully the actual dimensions of your glass, and then cut the film about 1/8" less than your measurement. This will give you about 1/16" on each side that will allow you to accommodate the natural variances in the window (I learned quickly that the window glazing etc. is never perfectly straight). 2. When you cut the film, it is best to use a straight edge (long metal ruler etc.) and cut with fresh single-edged razor blade or new X-acto knife. This will give you a very clean cut with much less risk of ripping that might happen with a utility knife. 3. Make sure your window is VERY clean ... you don't want any dust or lint particles from your cloth ... microfiber is good. OR, if you have an eCloth or Norwex cloth, those work really well. 4. Apply the water/soap mixture liberally to the film before applying ... the wetter the film, the easier it will be to maneuver into place. So yes, make sure you have rags on the floor under the window! 5. Work the water and air bubbles out from the center moving outward, focusing on the upper part of the film first and then slowly work down. If you make sure your top edges are aligned, the bottom will work itself out (and people will notice imperfections near the top far more than any at the bottom!). Above all, take your time. 6. Finally, if you discover that an edge of the film overlaps some of your glazing or wood, don't try to cut it while the film is still wet because you'll just rip it; wait for it to dry so you can make a clean, sharp cut. As long as you have worked out all the water and air bubbles, it should adhere very nicely to your glass.

I am so happy I bought this!
It's beautiful!!! I moved recently into a sort of old, but pretty house. The only problem is that since it hasn't been lived for a while, there was some handy work to be done, hence one of them this door, leads to the backyard, and right there is my neighbor's balcony. Nice people but I still wanted my privacy and this film was perfect for it without blocking the elegance of the door. The door already had some adhesive white effect on the glass by factory, but since it's old it had all mostly faded/fallen off. You can't even tell the difference! That's how good this is. It was sooo easy so install, OBVIOUSLY you have to meature, but that is an obvious fact about buying a film and I was prepared to face the hand work. No bubbly problem, I believe this complaints are from people who are not doing the simple steps rights. It's just as window shield, but since it's sturtdy it was soooooo much easier than usual window shield. I was prepared with simple cheap tools that I used for my car's windowshields that you can get anywhere, and for the bubbles, you can even use your driver's license or any plastic card just to squeeze off the air bubbles, simple. I had a gem tool, but I ended up using more Comfortably some normal scissors, because that's how easy it is. I cut a pretty reasonable piece, meatured it against the glass with the already dimensions provided by that adhesive film back, and I used my hair plastic water bottle, dropped like two dish detergent drops in it. I did it in less than 40 mins, I lost how much I really took because I had to keep coming back because of my kids' needs, overall, easy, simple, beautiful. Anyways, it does not block light, just dims some natural lighting, but I like that. It whole complete privacy and for the price? This is an Amazon treasure.

Mostly good
This product went on pretty easily but I would recommend having ideally two other people help you when working with large pieces (one to hold the top edge and another to line up the bottom). It works great for privacy. You can't see anything unless it's right behind it, day or night, lights on or off. The one issue I had with this product is that it came wrinkled badly at one end so it wouldn't lay flat. This may be fixable with a hair dryer but I dont have one. HOWEVER there's supposed to be the no return necessary money back guarantee. Tried to contact them to do so and I was only able to contact Amazon customer service who want me to return it. How am I supposed to return something that was unrolled and unstuck before I realized the issue??

This is working great. The film is a dream to work with.
I cut the film to fit exactly (30 x 41) because I was installing on a skylight over my head. The hardest part was getting a lot of it clinging to the glass at once and then repositioning it. This is probably the hardest installation possible (standing on the top of a six foot ladder with your head in a skylight.) Once I realized I could keep part of the film in place I could position the rest accurately and then adjust the first part to the correct position. On a door or window this would be stupid easy. I used a credit card as a squeegee with many small strokes to remove the water underneath the film. This worked fine. On traditional window tint this would not be fine as it would certainly damage the film. This vinyl film us much thicker and it does not stick to itself like traditional window tint. This is MUCH easier to handle. And if it all goes wrong there is no damage and you can simply start over again. I did not know what to expect exactly but I am very happy with the results and the material is a piece of cake to use and reuse. The installed film looks great and the light sparkles as it comes through. The illumination is broad and gentle giving a pleasing light to the room. The heat is stopped and the UV is stopped. This is a terrific window film. I am buying more to use on more skylights (that I had not thought to do before.) PS This is quite the glowing review but it is legit. This stuff is cheap and works great. Their warranty actually is no surprise, after my experience with it. They say no questions asked money back and you keep the film. That says a lot about this stuff.

Great privacy filter and/or light diffuser
I use this in my home office window because I live near a dog park and get a lot of passersby. I found it too distracting to have people looking at me all the time. I used the film to frost the bottom panels so I can leave the drapes open for natural light without being on display. It also does a great job of diffusing the light for video calls. Installation is a little tricky as with all of these products. Have all your tools ready. I used a small shower squeegee and a micro squeegee, the kind you get with phone protector kits. I also used a fine mist bottle for my dishwater mix. I recommend that you read through the directions carefully and then reread them. Check and double-check your measurements before cutting and have your tools within arms length. The film will shrink a little as it dries so you probably can't get a perfect edge to edge fit. Your window coverings should hide it through. I started from the top and squeegeed outward and downward to get the alignment right. rather than spraying the whole window at once, I did the top edge and then continued spraying and squeegeeing my way down. That was a few weeks ago and I don't have any bubbles or curling, everything looks good. I really prefer to have a bit of privacy so this really worked out for me. An unexpected bonus was how nice and soft the lighting is now so I look better on video calls. As long as you take your time to carefully install it it works very well.

Easier than I thought it would be
This product was so easy to use I couldn't believe it. Actually putting it on the window took almost not time or effort. The hardest part is measuring and cutting the film. I would recommend a good straight edge and an exacto knife or rolling cutter and some sort or surface that can be cut on like the mats that seamstresses use to cut fabric but a sharp pair of scissors would work if you are careful and take your time. The best part is being able to reposition the film easily. I just put this up yesterday and I am hoping it stays up but so far it looks great and there are no issues. I live in a 1st floor apt with a fair amount of foot traffic and neighbors and this definitely blocks people's view into my place but still let's the light in. I haven't yet looked at what other might be able to see from outside at night with the lights on but during the day it does a great job of obscuring the view. I seriously can't believe how great this stuff is. Also if it ends up falling off or getting messed up it is easy to just take off and replace or leave off and clean the window like you normally would.

Excellent product. Exactly what I needed
It's perfect, just make sure you plan well and cut properly, which I could have done better. It's easy to "install" and adjust before you make your final trim and the results are virtually seamless. I used the window film to create an environment for growing my Orchids and other plants that need filtered light and controlled heat. My plants improved within a week of the change in lighting and heat conditions and of course the view of my neighbor's garbage cans isn't missed either. Measuring of the privacy film is easy and it cuts easily with a good pair of scissors. I chose to give myself about an inch of overlap around the window edge to allow for a close fit in the window frame. Use a VERY SHARP, clean utility knife for trimming the edges and change the blade often. I also found that waiting for the film to "set" a bit on the window before the final trim makes for a cleaner cut; the wet film will move around while cutting which for me was bit frustrating. I recommend measuring your window before buying. I bought 2 rolls for a window measuring 48"hx60"w. I had plenty to work with, but my mistake was working horizontally and had to piece together a view spots. Buy the right length for your project. In my photo, the shadow at the top of the film is my neighbor's fence and not a fault of the product and I apologize for the quality of the photo. Hopefully you'll still get a sense of how happy I am with the Frosted film. Visually, the end result on my window is not perfect due to my mis-measurement, but as far as my needs, I couldn't be happier. My orchids are protected and coming back to life and I don't have to look at my neighbor's trash any longer. I highly recommend this product for both privacy, looks and protection.

Bubble problems, no soap solution included, bad application.
Overall it is an average product, it has the effect you want in giving you privacy. Amazon asked for a rating on whether or not it was low light, instead of giving it one star because it’s bright I have it five because it will light up your bathroom and in my case I actually wanted that so if you want low light this is not the product for you. It was relatively easy to install but you have to go into it with the understanding that window cleaners need an hour or more to evaporate off the window especially with old windows because of the aging of the glass, also it’s hard to put into place if you don’t use enough soapy solution and it will get bubbles and peel around the edges if you use too much. Even if you get all the bubbles out they will come back if it is in any area that gets steam whatsoever. The manufacturer needs to include a small spray bottle of solution or at the very least specify what kind of soap solution to use because no matter how I tried applying it (I tested several soaps and even used distilled or tap water) and I had problems with it. Also make sure you are able to cut this with something very accurate it will be difficult to use a razor or scissors.

Doesn’t cling well
Update: seller wants me to pull down used portions and return. It goes against their stated guarantee in the description. Seller was also very rude. I’ve been on Amazon for years and this is the worst experience I have had. Do not order from this seller!! I contacted the official window whirl company and they do not support their guarantee when purchased through a third party seller, like this person. False description! This seller is a con. Thankfully, Amazon gave me me money back when the seller refused. —— Seemed to go on okay at first, but doesn’t cling well. I’ve taped the top, which doesn’t look that great. I was hoping for a different outcome and will look for something else. Unfortunately, I didn’t learn this the first time with a window whirl product. I contacted the seller, as when I go for refund it says no refund on this product. Right in the description it says it’s refundable, with a satisfaction guarantee!

DO NOT BUY!!!
The film is very difficult to apply, took a lot of time and would not hold. Also it cannot take direct sunlight either. Major air pockets are forming and the film is falling off. I’ve used other adhesive film in the past and never had this kind of issues.
