This is a great RC car and great customer service ! Highly recommend. It is well built, goes fast, solid construction. Bought this for my 10 year old grandson but have been trying it out for past few days. I ordered extra battery and good thing as original battery only lasted for about 3 mins. I sent an email to the company and they replaced it within 2 days ! which was incredible in terms of prompt, courteous customer service. Also, note that instructions say there are 4 pins- not so- on the model 9123 there are only 2 pins in front and the bodyshell rotates up and back. If you remove 2 screws in rear you can remove the entire bodyshell although no real need as you can access battery compartment and on/off switch with the shell just raised.. Now on the car itself. It is fast- not a screamer like one for $700 but it goes fast - just right enough to control and enjoy. Have driven it for 3 days now and always getting run times of close to 15 mins per battery.I have not hit anything solid (yet) while going super fast but it has taken tumbles and nothing broke and all in perfect shape. RCs are made out of plastic, so if you are speeding and hit something solid, chances are something will break (duh).. They are not indestructible.I am super impressed with car and I have owned a few as well as RC boats, planes and helicopters and this is the best customer service I have encountered. I am very impressed !I do plan to buy another RC car and will buy same one or one from this same company.Excellent all around and this is not feedback as a promotion, just a regular buyer on Amazon.I highly recommend.

Just gave this to my almost 10 year old son for Christmas. He loved it and happily proceeded to test it outside despite the cold (32F).The front bumper and link pieces broke during the first battery after hitting a fence. I suspect the cold make the plastic more brittle but I would have thought the bumper could handle a bump or two without snapping. Perhaps a spring or more squishy mount would be more durable.I just order the replacement parts for Amazon but it looks like the link parts (plastic oval) aren’t going to arrive for a couple weeks. I guess we have to baby the car till then.For the price, I guess I can’t complain too much!——-Update - 12/26/2017:Despite being warned not to use the truck until the replacement bumpers arrived, my son couldn’t resist using his favorite Christmas gift again in the freezing cold today. He crashed it twice, first snapping off the spoiler and then cracking the hem arms on the front wheel and breaking the car shell in several spots.At this point, I am lowering to two stars since I now essentially could buy another full truck instead of the piecemeal spending in replacement parts!!The parts also appear to have fairly long lead times of 2 weeks, so getting a 2nd car for parts would be a lot faster!I reread the manual as well - there should probably be a warning not to use in very cold weather since the plastic becomes very brittle.I still think this is a relatively good value entry into a more serious level of R/C, but I don’t think it is suitable for kids <10.-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Update 25JAN2018: Changed from 2 stars to 4 starsThanks for the over-the-top customer service!!This update is approximately a week overdue, but I did want to update my review based on the great customer service I have received from Hosim (specifically Lucky). They contacted me soon after my review and shipped me a new truck. In addition, I did receive all of the replacement parts (from China direct) to repair the damage to the original car. I ordered a couple spares too!One thing to note regarding the spare parts - they do take a couple weeks to arrive as they come directly from the factory in China. All arrived in good shape and were well packaged.I would buy from them again based on the great customer service and speed / price ratio.

Gave this to my 10 year old son for his birthday. Less than 5 minutes of driving it just stopped working, battery was still charged - obviously he was pretty bummed as he's been asking for a RC car for months. The front wheels would still turn, however nothing from the rear wheels when trying to move. When it was running it was wicked fast and fun to drive! Contacted Hosim support who asked me to take a video of what was happening with the car, which I did. I was told there is a problem in the 2.4G receiver PCB and we need a new DJ04. They have been very responsive. The first attempt to resolve the situation was to send me the new part, which arrived promptly. When I discovered what was involved to install it (I'm not that good with a soldering iron) I told them I wasn't capable of making the repair so they offered to replace the entire unit. Excited to receive the replacement and get my son back on the road.

It’s a shame bc this truck has so much potential. It’s fast and really an awesome truck. I bought for my sons 7th birthday. He used it once and it worked well. The second time he used it, it woudl get stuck in full speed reverse without even touching the remote. Would have to power off the remote to stop it. It kept doing it so I returned it since I was within the 30 days. I ordered another one thinking the first one was a fluke. The very first time using it, it did the same thing. I’m dissapointed bc I will not try a 3rd time and I am out the money now for the extra batteries I bought. Will be returning this now as well. Didn’t even use 5 mins.
