Perfect SSD for MacBook Air M4 daily usage
So far so good. Using with MacBook Air M4 and left it exfat and no issues. Was able to take entire music and photo collection and move from very old hdd to new Samsung SSD. Liked it so ouch due to size, ruggedness and speed is plenty fast for what I use it for. Like it so much I bought another to have for day to day and this one as a backup with my entire drive saved off on it. It was plug and play easy to use, power source by a c cable and no discernible noise. Some heat after prolonged usage but nothing bad. So far zero data loss and highly recommended.

Fast and reliable USB drive
Fast and reliable USB drive. I will only purchase SSD drives now rather than a traditional spinning platter drive. As a video editor, the drive capacity and read speed is critical. I have a few of these now in different size capacities and these Samsung T7 drives are my preferred external drives for a few reasons.First, they're SSD drives so the possibility to go bad in contrast to a spinning platter drive is very slim. I have lost a few traditional drives over the years and once is enough. I have not had an SSD drive fail yet.Second, these Samsungs are fast. I am able to edit high bit rate, 4k media directly from these USB-C drives without having to bog down my internal drives with the footage files. The read speed is quick enough to not be a concern while editing directly from the drives. I've not been concerned with write speed but the benchmark tests are still high. They do not get hot like the traditional drives do.Form factor: tiny and easy to transport! I have 1TB, 2 TB, and 4 TB drives. Three of these together are still smaller than a traditional rugged external drive AND with no moving parts, I don't need to be concerned with careful packing and accidental shock. They arrive formatted as exfat so very easy to use with either mac or PC. They're affordable too. Every time a cheap client or agency provides me footage on a slow, sub-standard platter drive, I transfer it all to one of these Samsungs asap.

Fast and Reliable for my iMac Photo Storage
Fast. Works great with Apple iOS. Be patient band it will go on sale several times a year. Great value when it’s on sale. Small. Durable. Doesn’t get hot. I’ve had it and used it for over a year now and have had no issues with it

A decent substitute for the Sandisk 4TB Extreme Pro Portable SSD V2 until Sandisk fixes them...
I do a lot of backups, and I've been backing up computers to hard drives for a very long time. As different external drives move to prominence, I move to them. Samsung SSDs I had used as internal drives, but the first class of SSD I used for external drives were the Sandisk 4TB Extreme Pro V1 & V2 portable SSDs. These drives were absolutely phenomenal! I literally bought a dozen of them over many years. But then, in the past 18 months or so, Sandisk released a bad batch of them that lost user data! So until they fixed the issue, I couldn't risk buying one, so I tried the Rugged T7 - which seems like the closest substitute. It's a fine drive to compare to the old Extremes. It's a little bigger and heavier, but that's because it's rugged, and I love that. I love the rubber feel. Samsung generously gives you two full cables to use with it - one with USB-A and one with USB-C. The packaging was really cool, but I'm one of those people who likes to store the drive and cable in the original packaging, and the box is pretty huge for that. This isn't an issue at all if you want to just store the drive separately. So why do I only consider this a good drive until Sandisk gets back on their feet again? Simply because it's a lot slower than the Extremes. For people coming from rotating disks, they will be very impressed, but this is more like a gen1 SSD drive. Using an APFS formatted volume with USB-C and an Apple M1 Max laptop, on BlackMagic I consistently got 825 MB/second read and 633 MB/second write. With the Extreme, I never dropped below 1,000. (Except in real world transfers, where everyone falls and seek rates are more important.)I haven't done a backup yet with one of these and my M1 Max, so as soon as I do, I'll update this with a comparison. But so far, this looks to be a fine drive. And It's OK fast - going faster is more of a luxury item. Since I cannot at the moment recommend Sandisk drives due to the huge scandal, I whole heartedly recommend this Samsung rugged T7 as the next best thing. And it's at a great price, too - I got the 4TB for just $250. I guess with that in mind, being slower is fine. :)Fingers crossed that companies will solve the technology issues that have been holding back 8TB drives.

Good work for a small package
Great little SSD. Can hold a lot of data and it transfers at a decent speed. Needed one for gaming purposes. Call of duty is over 300GB and I didn’t want to use up my internal hardrive. Saying so it does lag a bit at moments for this game. Not sure about the 1000mbs but it does work ok. It’s compact so it can be stored away and it comes with both USB to USB bus or type C to type c bus.

Small, fast and rugged
I've been through my fair share of old school hard drives, travel HDD, SD cards, internal SSDs etc... over the years. When this arrived, I was surprised by how small it is. Maybe about half the size of my medium size phone. Exterior rubber is nice, feels good in hand and doesn't slip as much on a desk. Most importantly, that thing is fast and it really doesn't feel like you're dealing with an external peripheral. It's a true pleasure to use. Only gripe is that it disconnects easily if you're not careful but that's something I can overlook given how good everything else is.
