It does not have a pir, it comes on in the dark, and goes off when light. Great for outdoor parties.

Is it possible to increase the operating time by fitting an additional lithium battery?

Hi i honestly dont know the answer to your question but ours comes on at dusk and stays on till dawn regardless of sun.
