High-Quality and Installation not Too Bad
Because the whole mechanism is in the trunk, it makes for a clean tidy replacement. I made sure to pack plenty of high-quality grease into the gears. Despite what some of the DIY videos and forum articles say, the brake did not work after holding the button down for 5 seconds, cycling it 3 times, etc. I had to take it to my Independent shop where they cleared multiple codes (one for the button, one for the mechanism) and told it to "Re-Learn Parking Brake Position" or something like that. Since then it has worked perfectly and it's quiet again. Great value compared to the $1400 BMW wants for the box plus installation. Yikes.

Great OEM upgrade
Replaced the shredded OEM plastic gear for this very nice upgrade, worked perfect & the customer was very pleased at the savings from not having to buy an entire new actuator module from BMW or used salvage module which would likely have the same problem later on down the road.

Fit like a glove
As BMW 7 series owners would know that the parking brake gear is a common issue. Replacing the old plastic gear with this metal one was perfect!

Does not fit my 2006 E65 BMW750i!
in the assembly of the original part there is a red plastic clip that does not fit this replacement part.Does not fit my 2006 E65 BMW750i, The red plastic clip does not fit. The spring that remains in the gear cap does not fit in the space as the two spring gripping features cannot be spread while assembling. I tried to remove the spring and set it on the gear directly but then the cap won't fit as the spring gets loaded and enlarge its diameter. The metal rotating segment is too large. Impossible reassembly even without the red plastic clip. So I'm purchasing the replacement metal gear that replaces only the broken white plastic one. It costs $70 USD.

Works great, great price!
Fit like a champ in 07 750Li (E66), would definitely recommend. Not sure why others cost 2x and 3x more than this one. You do have to code it/initialize after install but that is with any one you would be putting in.
