Best jacket for any kind of cold outdoor work
With the full swing technology allowing full arm movement without the hassle of sleeves riding up and exposing forearms to the cold while working outside and the 3M thinsulation lining keeping you warm without being overly bulky or heavy. This jacket is the absolute best. Partnered with Carhartts rainfly technology to keep you dry in the wettest conditions. This jacket has proven for 4 years why Carhartt is the best.

Good quality
I'm 5'10 i got a regular large and it fits nicely but is a tiny bit too big so if you're roughly my size and are around 190lbs should fit nicely maybe medium would fit a bit more but other than that nice quality but zipper threads are breaking a but already

Order to size, then go wrestle bears!
This jacket runs to size. If you want to layer, add about one size up per standard sweater/sweatshirt. The size chart here, refers to a range. Example: Large is from a 42 to a 44 inch bare chest... and so on. Tall sizing adds an additional 2 inches in length but, at the time of this review, tall sizes seem to be sold out. Darker, gray and/or salt and pepper haired men, like myself, the Shadow color looks the best. Blonde, sandy or red haired men, the Canyon Brown color looks the best. The most amazing feature of the Carhartt Men's Full Swing Cryder Jacket is the operational temperature range. It’s not too hot, up to around 50 degrees yet, keeps the wearer warm down to below freezing (depending on your tolerance/activity). I really love the jacket but, hated the way they attached the hood. My solution was to cut off the bottom flap (w/ the snaps) and sew the top flap of the hood attachment set-up down permanently. When you get the jacket, you’ll see exactly what I’m referring to. The seamstress at my local dry cleaner charged me $10 and she did it in 10 minutes. Take your time and find a good seamstress though; my seamstress is excellent so, bear that in mind (note: if you have bears in your mind, this is the correct jacket for you).

Great coat for the money.
This jacket is actually quite soft and flexible. It’s heavier than I expected, more coat than jacket. My one complaint is the double zipper. It can be a little finicky, when it works it’s nice.

Nice
Durable cotton exterior and repels water pretty impressively. Love that it has a hood and is detachable. Nice level of Thinsulate insulation for working outdoors--not too much, not too little. Inside pocket can hold my iphone plus size. Front chest pockets are zippered and fairly large as well. Hand pockets have a single button closure--wish they were zippered. Elastic cinch at the waist is anice touch. All in all, a great jacket for doing things in.

Great Jacket
Great fit. I usually by Med in the older Carhartt designs because the large was too big and puffy on me. The newer designs like this one fit like other brands. I usually by Lg-Xlg in other brands. This has been a great jacket for this winter. Plenty of pockets. I use the check pockets for my IPhone Xplus with an Otter box case. The waist pockets have buttons to keep stuff from falling out. The jacket is loose enough that i can still wear a hoodie underneath for more warmth.

Great all-around jacket
This jacket is really warm. It’s easily as warm as some other outdoor/hiking brands’ jackets with down insulation. The outer fabric is soft to the touch, but is durable and tough to the point where I don’t have to worry about something snagging it and ripping a hole in it. It’s a great jacket for working outdoors, but also great for camping in cold temperatures - even with a light rain or mist. I’ve not used it in a hard rain for any extended period or time, so I don’t know how well the water resistance / waterproofing works.
