Powerful Intervention

HearthMath techniques work
The timing is perfect as I just received a review request from Amazon for the book "Transforming Anxiety." Earlier today, I felt a rush of sadness come over me; it was so deep, I actually couldn't finish drinking a cup of coffee. I decided to try the HeartMath technique of breathing in and out several times while visualizing the breath coming out of my heart, and then I chose to remember an experience that filled me with love and gratitude; the tears rolled down my eyes and then I smiled. The trick is to FEEL a positive emotion, not just remember it. I kid you not, in 8 minutes my entire mood and energy level shifted! What a relief! The techniques outlined in the book have worked for me over and over again; one can indeed transform anxiety and bring a balance between the mind and the intelligent heart.I give this book five stars and a big thanks to the authors for for their healing contributions.

A Viable Alternative Solution to Therapy
I was introduced to the Heartmath solution back in 2000. While studying alternative healing methods, a colleague of mine stumbled over this method and attended a weekend retreat teaching the method. After bringing back the information we practiced with each other and found the Heartmath methods more successful for Stress and Anxiety Management than years of therapy. Therapy was only keeping us stuck on the problems and not altering thinking patterns. One has to follow the methods established by the authors and actually do what they suggest on a daily basis: not simply read, thinking the information has been absorbed. Hearthmath is something you do and you practice like meditation. The more you do and practice, the more accustomed the mind and heart becomes trained to exercise the methods allowing one to break through. The method can be transforming.

Loved this book!
Short and sweet... to the point. I learned about the stress response, what contributes to anxiety, and some ways to cope which includes new meditations to try. Also ordered one to send to my son and daughter-in-law.

Excellent book
This book offers some of the best solutions I have ever read for dealing with anxiety. I like the heart math approach and don't care if it t is considered scientific or not. It works if you work it. As with all techniques it is absolutely necessary to practice. It has been instrument in changing my life

Excellent and Truly Helpful
Discovering HeartMath and their materials about a year ago has greatly improved my life. Transforming Anxiety gave me the understanding and tools I needed to nearly eliminate low grade anxiety I have lived in for decades. When I do experience bouts occassionally, I know just what to do and can often stop it in it's tracks. The difference this has made for me is profound. It has allowed me to pursue long held dreams I could not before due to constant anxiety. Remarkable.

Intriguing, If Debatable
While I liked the concepts presented, I personally had no improvement trying to implement them in my own life. However, it is good to see that others had much better luck than I did.The interesting (and perhaps somewhat self-defeating some might argue) aspect of most self-help books is that they make you focus on the very thing you are trying to rid yourself of, or stop focusing on: Your "problem".

Thought this would be more about the theory.... It's more of a self-help
I got this book to try to understand more about the theory and research aspects of the heart as a nervous centre of influence and control in the body. This book is not that. It's simple and clear if you want to follow it's self help approach but it is not what I was looking for.

I guess the art is in the doing, not the theory. This books makes a lot of sense, but get ready to take it into action if you are to see results. Some stating the obvious.

Very clear and helpful
The book is very well structured. The steps are well explained and I could feel an immediat effect. They buid on each other and form a complete pathway for overcoming depression and anxiety, which really works. I use it in addition to the work with Dr. Joe Dispenza, and I also have the EmWave 2 for feedback.So far for me it is the best book on anxiety, that I have read, because it is really a scientifically based practical workbook without unnecessary diagnosis and other cathegorisations.

Good book. Works with applying the Coherence cardiac . If you practice every day you can transform your anxiety. Takes practice and diligence.
