Nikon COOLPIX B700 Pro Digital Lens Hood (Flower Design) (62mm) + Filter/Hood Adapter Ring + Nw Direct Cleaning Cloth.

This lens hood arrived with zero instructions! In order for these shaped hoods to be effective, they must be aligned and locked in square with camera. I figured out how to do it, but a simple paragraph of instructions would have made things much simpler. On previous cameras where Nikon provided a hood, it clipped on easily and quickly. I worry that the threads on this hood can easily get cross threaded. Once on it seems sturdy, but it does not go on quickly. Therefore it will stay on and make the camera not fit in my old camera bag. As another reviewer said, at the wide angle limit (4.3 mm) the filter adaptor cuts off the corners of the image. When zoomed out just a bit to 5.9 mm, the corners are OK. I almost returned this item. I really wish Nikon had provide a hood for this camera. This one is a kludge, but on bright sunny days, it is better than nothing.

At first I didn't think it really would fit the B700 but it does. I like being able to put it on quickly or remove quickly. It is a good thing to shade across the lens from bright sun. Like many hoods, there is a shading when using wide mode, but that is a fix you will learn.

Good product, well made. Delivered on time and in good condition.One caution, at least on my Nikon Cool Pix 700, at the extreme wide angle the shade does put shadows in the corner of the picture.It is a minor problem.

Not for b700. Too long causing it to appear in all photos shot at wide angle. Big problem.
