We’ve been using these Plantonix coco coir bricks mainly as a mulch layer in our vegetable garden and outdoor pots, and they’ve been fantastic. After soaking, they expand into a soft, fluffy texture that’s easy to spread around the base of plants.It helps keep the soil moist longer, reduces crusting, and seems to keep the beds looking neat. The bricks store easily and hydrate without much hassle — just give it a little time to soak through.Really happy with the quality. Hardly any large chunks or trash mixed in, unlike some other brands we’ve tried. We’ll keep coming back for these.

i purchased it twice already and the quality of all items is superior. the coco coir expands to a really decent size and does not create any dust. all the plants i’ve planted in the soil mix with these ingredients (+perlite, orchid bark, and vermiculite) are doing really well and develop nice and healthy roots!

Why did you pick this product vs others?:Good quality product, rehydrated quickly and evenly. Product is clean and free of debris and consistent in size. I placed it around my fig trees and it has really helped to maintain a consistent soil temperature. It also helps maintain the soil at the proper level of moisture. Very good quality product.

This is a great substrate and good value for using in things such as a terrarium. The coconut coir expands a ton when you add hot water to it.If I was rating this as a seed starting medium, I would give it 1 star. I keep trying to use coconut coir to start seeds to stretch the costs and planting medium, and it keeps failing. It's great for germinating the seeds, but after that, it's awful. It offers no nutritional value to the seedlings so they will yellow and dampen off. Even adding it half and half with a good seed starting mix doesn't work well. The seedlings I started with this mixed with Miracle-gro seed starting mix were weaker, yellow, and stunted. They stopped growing when seedlings started in other mediums continued to grow and thrive.

I use Coco Coir to make my own soil for my garden. It is easy to break down with water and has been successful in my raised beds and throughout my garden. I add compost, vermiculite and perlite to the coco coir and my soil has great quality and drains well.

The product worked great. This is my first year using it for my backyard garden. The coco fiber expanded well, it was easy to integrate / amend into the soil. I also use it as mulch covering to hold the water so the plant does not dry out. I do recommend this product.

I really like these coco chips. There's a lot and you can keep the blocks unhydrated until you need them, which saves me some storage space. I also like the fact that they've already been buffered.
