Has anyone had success picking up gumballs (or anything) on larger gravel using this?

Will this work for picking up goat head seeds, or are they too small to stay in?

I don’t know for sure. I have two sizes: one that picks up the large sweet gum balls, and a smaller one for acorns. The larger one works well. The smaller one is okay but not efficient for acorns. The function relies on the wires spring action as the wires are pushed apart by pressing down on the seed, and then return to position as the seed/nut passes into the wire chamber. My guess is the small irregular shape of the goat head seed will prove difficult to pick up.

We have the large size I do not think it would pick up acorns …tines of gatherer would be too far apart to hold them. Check on small or medium size nut gatherer.

Can this pick up Tennis balls

It can pick up large walnuts. It might be able to do tennis balls too.
