I had to repair a 20y old Broan-NuTone chime and discovered the transformer was malfunctioning. I found the OEM online at a much higher price. This unit is directly compatible and operates as expected. Installation was easy and no detected “noise” coming from the unit. When changing the transformer of an old chime do not install a unit rated higher than the old unit. Some newer transformers are made to accommodate camera doorbells and extra cameras. The higher output of the transformer can damage an older chime.

“I just love having a doorbell!” — said no dog owner ever. After enjoying six months of peace and quiet (our old transformer died), we’re officially back to reality. On the bright side, this transformer worked perfectly and brought our doorbell back to life with no issues. Installation was straightforward, and it’s been working reliably so far. If you’re replacing a dead transformer, this did exactly what it was supposed to do. My dogs may not approve, but I do.

Arrived in about a week. Packing was a little shoddy. Hooked it up, but no ring. Turned out that the bell button was bad. Replaced the bell button and chime worked fine. So , I really dont know if the old transformer was bad or not. Will keep it though to make sure system works and is all new. Good for old systems with just a bell ring.

Easy to install and plenty of power for standard door chime. Doesn't get real hot or make any humming sound. Seems to be well built and ready for the task at hand. One of the best prices I found at the time of purchase.

This transformer does not work. Secondary is absent voltage when hooked up properly. Arranging to let them know and get another now.

NOT for UK. This is rated 120v not the 240v that you need for the UK. That certainly wasn't clearly stated on the description when I bought it.

Le compré también la campana Newhouse con las especificaciones técnicas compatibles de electricidad, y con la ayuda de un electricista todo funcionó, se encargó de instalar el transformador dentro del centro de carga. Como tip, el timbre tarda varios minutos en prender la primera vez que reactivas la luz de la casa por primera vez.

works perfect for my chime

Replaced transformer that came with our house (lasted barely over a year), I am expecting and hoping for longer life with this one. It is easy to install but CAUTION must be used as this connects directly to your 120 Volt AC. In my case, it attached to the side of the power panel box which means you have to get into the area where all the breakers are wired. If you are lucky, yours will be in a electrical outlet box but, in any case, you are working with on 120 Volt AC so be careful. Turn off breakers, use rubber gloves (will provide some insulation) and use only one hand if at all possible. When you use 2 hands and you are electrocuted, the current will in all likelihood pass from one hand through your chest to the other. So again, be cautious!
