I find it difficult to hold the perler beads steady while placing them, and I am very happy with how well it works! It is also satisfying to watch the gears move. It’s a simple device that is easy to use. Am planning to get more for my local makerspace.

Got this to store small projects with a case that could have a little perler stash for when I travel for craft fairs. Reasonable price, clear coloring so I can see everything, I can organize all of my small projects in one bin! It fits great in my tote bag!One issue.Where’s the handle???I looked all over the box, in the paper that was in the box, on the floor of my house, outside in the driveway, there’s no handle.For me this is going to be fine, I’ll be ordering another to connect as a travel stack so I can carry even more beads! Please send a handle next time!

I like the tubes a lot better since it is easier and less messy for my daughter to unscrew one top as opposed to take off the clamps at both ends of the plastic box. The tubes also easily take 1000 beads from a pack. The box however barely takes 1000 and needs some work to close it. Go for the tubes.

I've been making 8-bit Perler Bead coasters and magnets of my favorite Nintendo characters for about a year now. I enjoy creating them and love the finished products. The biggest issue I have is that many of them are fairly time consuming to make, whether you use your fingers or tweezers. A few weeks ago I mentioned to my girlfriend that it would be amazing if they made some sort of Perler pen to quickly dispense beads instead of doing them each by hand. Oddly enough, I stumbled upon this pen last week and bought it immediately.I must say, I had very high hopes for this tool. In theory, it would cut down creation time by a considerable amount. However, in my experience it just couldn't get the job done as I had hoped. Here are my pros and cons:Pros:- The pen is fairly wide, which makes it easy to grip for almost anyone- Button to dispense beads is large and easy to press- Twist top to load beads functions very well- There is a small bump at the mouth of the pen which is convenient for flipping any sideways beads up- The cost is reasonable- Decent for doing outlinesCons:- Not capable of holding a very large number of beads- You have to shake the pen fairly often to get the beads into the dispensing chamber (this is even one of the steps on the package)- The tip of the pen is a good bit larger than the beads, meaning it's not easy to get the beads to fall straight up onto your Perler board as you would like- Not good for filling in tight spacesI wouldn't call this pen a success nor a failure; however, I can't necessarily recommend it either. It leaves lot to be desired, in my opinion. If the mouth of the pen was made as small as possible to dispense the beads I think it would be much more accurate and therefore usable in any instance, rather than just outlining. I also don't see a reason why it isn't designed to hold at least twice as many beads. I think if these small adjustments were made this product could easily be a four to five star item and a must have for Perler Bead enthusiasts.

tried it out when i got it in and tested it out also works great if you spell your beads so you don’t have to pick them up by hand
