New to the shooting sports. What is mean't by first and second focal plane reticles in regards to scopes?

A second focal plane scope, like our 1-6x24mm will feature a reticle that will stay the same size and will not grow in size or shrink as magnification increases or decreases like a first focal plane scope. This also means that second focal plane reticles with BDCs or ranging features like our ACSS reticle in our 1-6x24mm SFP are only accurate at the highest magnification setting, unlike first focal plane reticles, where the BDC's and ranging features are accurate across the entire magnification range.

What grain does this scope rely on for the 5.56?

The scopes BDC has been tested for the 62 grain m855 as well as the 55 grain m193 rounds.

What scope mount to use with a s&w mp15 with the "a frame" front sight?

We recommend the PADLXSM Primary Arms Deluxe AR-15 Scope Mount - 30mm. This mount will put the center of the reticle approximately .1" over your front sight.

How well does this work with .223 ammo?
