I bought this cable to hookup some solar panels to an offgrid solar system in one of our sheds. This kit connects to an EcoFlow Delta Pro and a 3 piece Panasonic 400 watt solar setup. It works extremely well, it's solid and durable, and so far had no issues. I plan on running a couple longer lengths, having everything needed in a kit like this will make that much smoother.

I picked up this GEAR-IT 12-gauge solar wire for my setup, and overall I’m very happy with it. The wire is tinned copper, which is a big plus for solar applications because it resists corrosion better than plain copper. Combined with the thick, high-quality insulation, it feels rugged and well-built, clearly made to handle outdoor conditions. It came with two sets of MC4-style connectors, so terminating the ends was straightforward. Once connected, the wire delivered a solid, reliable power flow. My panels are wired in series, running at about 60+ volts, with a cable run of around 30 feet. Even at that distance, there’s been no noticeable voltage drop and performance has been excellent. The sheath is a little harder to strip than some other wires, but that’s actually part of the design. It’s made to be UV-resistant, weather-resistant, and abrasion-resistant, which is exactly what you want for wiring that’s going to live outdoors for years. It takes a little more effort during installation, but that toughness gives you long-term confidence. The only drawback is that the red and black conductors are not bonded together. They come as two separate wires, which makes cable management less convenient compared to paired runs. It’s durable, corrosion-resistant, and delivers consistent power with no loss even on longer runs. The tougher sheath and separate conductors add a bit of hassle, but the trade-off is well worth it for the long-term reliability and performance.

Works well, but suffers significant line loss. Was getting 147 at most from 220W panels and 197 W immediately before that. It’s fine for my application given my panels are 100’ from the charge controller and I know there will be some loss, but others should be aware with these 100’ cables you will have 20-25% line loss. Connectors were easy to make. Wire strippers and crimpers are useful to have but not necessary.
