I am a healthy active woman in her early 30s, who takes flu shots every fall and suffers from mild seasonal allergies. I like to incorporate immune system supplements in my routine, to further prevent flu (I run or hike for extended periods of time even in winter cold or rain season) and to relieve some of my allergy symptoms. I usually use Echinacea supplements, but I tried to test Astralagus; I bought the NOW Foods one because I trust the brand and I was satisfied with the usage of many of their products. It's somehow hard for me sometimes to see very clear results with supplements, but overall I think that Astralagus has worked to boost my immunity (and as a generic tonic as well). I normally have low white blood cells count and this didn't raised them up, but I barely got flu like symptoms (even if I don't get the flu/cold, I might have a runny nose or sore throat) and my seasonal allergies symptoms were less frequent. I do like that Astralagus has the extra antioxidant effects; any extra protection from environment and lifestyle stressors is welcomed. I took one Astralagus capsule with each main meal, and I'm a small healthy female. I recommend experimenting with the dosage depending on your size, lifestyle and health; a higher dosage might work better when you actually suffer from flu. The pills are easy to take (but I don't mind usually taking larger pills), don't cause stomach issues or reflux. Note: Item purchased in December 2018 had the `Best By` Date of November 2021.

So, I'm turning 50 this year (can I freeze time with this review?) and I have used astralagus before and the NOW brand and never been disappointed. Somehow (LIFE) I got off the beaten path of taking supportive and preventative vitatmins. Well, waking up to aching joints and starting to feel run down last month - got me to thinking. I need to slow down and take better care of myself. So, I rememberd my "old friend" astralagus and did some research on Amazon. I chose this product for the price, the number of capsules (100) dose (take 2 once a day) and overall the company - NOW - has a great history of quality products. I cannot say anything bad about this product - and the benefits (see below) are a no brainer. I'm more into herbs than I am vitamins - maybe it's my alternative background (experience in acupuncture, mindfulness, meditation etc.) but I'll take an herb any day over a vitamin. Give these a try - you may not notice a magical transformation over night but that's NOT what these supplements are about - rather - their a gradual and consistent healing of your body and ultimately overall health. it does help a lot, strongly recommended for healing, will not work instantly every vitamin takes days or weeks or months to work properly, as well as it depends of your body, it is not a miraculous cure, it helps the healing process of the body, do a research on the internet or watch a review of the effect in youtube, but this has work for me, I take it daily for a few months and has help with sickness and energy, as well as if you want to intensify the effect you can mix it with other good vitamins compounds as NAD, resveratrol quercetin, and so on
