Good stuff!
I like the idea of learning to counterpuch, but love the idea of understanding when,, what, where and how to do it correctly. This book teaches all of the above. It is full of good pictures and gives plenty of fighting offensive and defensive counter punching scenarios. There is a wealth of knowledge in this book and no shortage of photographic examples to increase your fighting brain power and muscle memory. I like it - a lot!

Great book of counter combos
Mark Hatmaker wrote a winner here. If you do boxing or kickboxing, you'll get some good ideas from this book. Even getting only one good counter combo from this book makes it worth the money. You will definitely get more than one new and effective counter combo from this book that you can take right to your sparring .

Great Book! See techniques not used much anymore. Old School!
Techniques that over the years have not been used much or at all. Leverage guard blocking and jamming punches by hitting the shoulder or crook of arm. Old Ray Robinson, Willie Pep and Benny Leonard techniques! A few techniques are in the book that I would not recommend but only a very few because of the angles and positions it puts you in. Otherwise, it is "The Bible of Counterpunching" which in itself is rare these days. Very few "masters" out there anymore with the exception of Mayweather who is "old school". These fighters turning pro from amateur with less than 75 fights these days are the reason these older techniques are not being seen much anymore. It takes time to learn counterpunching and it takes a lot of patience. The days of Hearns,Leonard and others who had over a hundred amateur fights gave them the time to learn their craft. The book will help you to learn some techniques that will "enlighten" you on counterpunching. It is truly an art in making the other initiate so you can counter. It puts you in control of the fight and confuses the opponent to the point of demoralizing him. A book well worth having if you are a student of boxing.

student southern arts
I absolutely love this book ! If you were like me and thought boxing was just about slugging think again ! After reading this book I realized how underated of an art boxing is . If you have studied arts like wing chun or southern praying mantis you will appreciate the knowledge and the similarities in parrying . No wonder Bruce Lee added more boxing into his art ! Boxing is truly the sweet science .

Good book
As someone adding western boxing to tae kwon do sparring. The book offers some great counters. The only draw back, there is not as much info on foot work.

Great boxing bible
Very readable publication. A little chatty script but great photos and clear message. However, nothing replaces the actual physical contact training!
