Great socks: 2 pair to a package & made in USA
I have worn these socks for at least a decade. Actually, I wear only these socks, except for when I am on the running trail. I keep ten pair of these in my sock drawer and rotate them, plus another ten pair in the back closet, waiting in reserve. But they have to wait a long time because the socks are quite sturdy. And very, very comfortable. Thick, cushy, wick-dry synthetics. Many years ago, synthetics were slick and only cotton socks were soft. Now, we have socks like these -- softer than any cotton socks you have ever worn, plus they are better for your feet (so I have read, anyway).I started wearing these socks when REI used to sell them as "REI Camp Socks". Then, they dropped them and I had to search online and even make a phone call or two to find who made them. It was Fox River. So I bought several pair from them and now, years later, I am still wearing the "reserve" portion of that buy. These from Amazon (slightly less expensive than the same packages from Fox River) are my new "reserve".Can't imagine how Amazon forgot to mention in their top level product description that there are TWO PAIR in each package. Seems like an important point, as it cuts the price in half. Also, according to the label, these socks are "Proudly Made in the USA". Had no idea there were ANY socks still made here but I am glad these are and that I am wearing them.

Best socks ever
I really love these socks my only complaint is i normally add bleach to my white sock but on these the red writing ran on the white part, just letting everyone know

The best socks on the planet!
Made in the USA!! Now that I have said that, I will admit I am partial to both comfort & things made in the Mid-West. I have/use some of all of their socks from "boot" to summer shorties & they are all great & last! There is one thing you must pay attention to & that is order by number & written description, not color pattern (i.e. their boot & summer crew socks look nearly like twins!). They stay up, they don't seem to "crawl" unless you don't tie up your footwear. They wash beautifully (wash separately as some of their some have a high cotton content & may pick up color). Lastly, they are soft & extremely comfortable & look good too.

Too Tight For Fat Legs
As a big guy, I walk 3-4 miles three times a week for exercise and have been looking for some socks which stay up, are not too constricting at the top cuff, and are heavily cushioned in the heel, toe, and bottom of the sock. These socks were too tight at the upper cuff for my bigger diameter legs and were returned. Since there is no accepted industry standard for socks, I will continue to search for the perfect pair of socks which fit my needs.

I’ve got kind of bony, size 13 feet so I prefer thick cushion socks. I tried these Fox River socks a couple of years ago, and I love them. Very comfortable, durable, and I’ve stockpiled a few pairs fearing that I won’t be able to get them in the future. No complaints here. They’re worth the price.

For swimmers: You can almost pull them on over wet feet
After swimming, showering, getting dressed, pulling on socks is a royal pain. Feet stay wet. Some people pour talcum powder into their socks. It's messy. I lightly dry my feet with a hand cloth and slip on these socks. Takes a little work, but these are 1/10th the work of lightweight socks that lock up over wet toes. And once on they easily absorb leftover wetness. During winter I wear them every day. Have 12 pair and they're all still in service. Great socks. I rate them 10/10.

Great sock to wear
I buy 14 pair at a time and if they are turned inside out when washed will last a long time, couple of years. They are very comfortable and absorb moisture and impact. 100% acrylic.
