ZINUS Vivek Deluxe Wood Platform Bed Frame with Headboard, Wood Slat Support, No Box Spring Needed, Easy Assembly, Queen

This is an early initial review of the Zinus Vivek platform bed after having it for just 3 days. It arrived in a week in a huge heavy box. Honestly, dragging that box from outside my door to inside my house, by myself, was the most difficult part of the whole experience. After that everything was so easy. The package was undamaged and double boxed as you can see in the pic. Everything was very expertly packed with lots of foam padding and so none of the parts were damaged or scratched. The instructions are fairly clear although it is only pictures , no words which is fine. The only thing missing was that the parts labelled with letters (A,B,C) in the instruction booklet are not actually labelled on the pieces. Only the numbers which represent the order and connecting points are labelled on the pieces. Still it is easy to follow and execute if you follow the order exactly. All the pieces are expertly engineered, I was very impressed with the quality of the product for the price. Not just the quality of the wood and the finishing but that all the holes/bolts line up perfectly , the screws are able to be tightened smoothly and feel secure with no looseness or jiggling. Very well made. (Just a tip , when putting together the side running panels (STep 3) , when attaching the long side panel to the footboard/legs, it helps to support the other end of that long board on the cardboard box that the tools came in since it is the perfect height between from the floor to keep it horizontal , as seen in the picture. I'd be seriously impressed if they designed the height of the box to match that since that helped immensely if putting it together all by yourself). It all came together very smoothly and after everything was in place, it just felt sturdy and secure, no shaking or wobble and looks very good too. Kudos to Zinus for not just engineering a fine product but also putting lot of thought into engineering the assembly and packaging to make it easy. I'd highly recommend this product if you are shopping for a platform bed. It may not be the cheapest one on Amazon but it is totally worth the price paid and more.

I was very hesitant to order this bed, for a lot of reasons. Some of which are that these "assemble yourself" furniture things have, in the past (NOT Zinus), have been very difficult to assemble. Things like missing parts, missing instructions (!) (you name it). Gave me a definite pause. Add all of this to the fact that I am female, and (how to put this?) "older", and don't have a lot of experience with assembling things (i.e., mostly poor experiences, as mentioned above) and that a purchase of this bed would make it THE most expensive single item I have ever purchased on Amazon - me, an Amazon customer of 20+ years standing - just about made me decide to give this bed a pass. Boy, am I glad I read the reviews (more than 20,000 at this writing). Reading the reviews, and looking at the rating, made me decide to give this a chance. The bed arrived in about three days on my front porch. As expected (I had read that the box weighed about 85 pounds - no exaggeration here!) I could not lift the box to carry it inside (it was just too heavy for me) so I laid it flat on my front porch (it had arrived standing upright) and opened it there. The contents was EXTREMELY well packaged - it was a smaller box within the large box. The smaller box contained all of the parts - large and small styrofoam blocks everywhere, everything was welll-cushioned, thus un-blemished. The small parts (fasteners, screws and such) were shrink-wrapped onto sections on a piece of cardboard, with each section labeled with the corresponding part number to the directions - as an added bonus, there was also a section labeled "spare parts", with a few extras of each. I REALLY appreciated this thoughtfulness on the part of Zinus, as this guaranteed that I would have all of the parts required. The instructions were simple - mostly all graphic images (pictures) of the step-by-step assembly. The reason that the instructions were so simple is that this bed is incredibly well engineered - the design has really been carefully planned and carefully thought out. Because of this, the parts and assembly pictures exactly matched all of the actual parts. Not too much guess work here - I had one or two missteps at the beginning, only due to me inexperience in putting together such things. After more thinking, looking at what I had done and comparing it to the instruction, I saw my error, disassembled this first step, and it was smooth sailing from then on. It took me about an hour and fifteen minutes to put this bed together, only because I had to spend a few minutes at each assembly step staring at the instructions in order to understand if I was doing things correctly. Aside from the first step, I was. If I had this to do over again (or if I had been a person with experience in such things) I'm guessing that I could have put this bed together in a half hour, tops. And I LOVE LOVE LOVE this bed! It is beautiful, exactly what I was hoping for (I purchased the one with the headboard), although expensive (for me) it is a quality item and totally worth the price. I know I will enjoy this bed for many, many years to come. So, if you are contemplating getting this bed, even if you are "older" and even if you have no experience in do-it-yourself furniture assembly, I would say GO FOR IT! When it comes, don't be in a rush, study the instructions, only open the shrink wrapped parts sections as you need them (and be sure to put the parts in a dish or a pan or something so that they don't roll under your chest of drawers and disappear!), take your time - and soon you will have a beautiful new bed. The only thing I would say to Zinus is that the photos on the page for the bed were poor quality (the photos, NOT the bed), blurry and out-of-focus. This almost stopped me from buying the bed right there and then - so, Zinus: better photos, more bed sales! Thanks for reading, everyone!! :-)

Seems good so far. The instructions were very simple, and seems to be sturdy. Not a gigantic fan of the plywood it came with (I got a splinter from it lol) but it seems easy enough to replace. I feel like the plywood is more than likely the first part of the bed that'd need replacing. It doesn't creak or anything so I'm not worried about its durability or strength, I'm sure the rated weight limit is correct. I'll check in a few weeks or months (or whenever I'm bored) on if the screws are coming loose. Until I hear it squeaking I might forget though lol. I'll update if I remember. I don't love the headboard since I sit in bed and I have a baseboard trim, so the headboard gets pushed into the wall which puts (very minor) strain on it... but I think it looks nicer than not having one. I think the frame looks pretty classy. It's also a frame, I don't know how much it contributes to comfort level compared to the mattress, but I didn't notice anything jarringly wrong. Doesn't come with any frills or additional features: no storage, so the 12'' gap from the floor is all you get. There's also some feet down the middle, so you lose a bit of storage under the bed that way.

Beautiful! Solidly built & easy to assemble. Even the allen wrench is a ratchet so it is so easy to use. I love everything about this bed. So I bought a second one for my other bedroom. Do not hesitate buying this.

The bed frame itself is great. It’s sturdy, feels well-built, and was straightforward to assemble with clear instructions. Once put together, it doesn’t squeak or wobble and looks great. The only reason I’m giving it 4 stars instead of 5 is because the price dropped about a week after I purchased it. I contacted Amazon to see if they would honor the lower price, but they told me I’d have to return the entire bed frame and reorder it instead of issuing a price adjustment. That was disappointing for such a large item. Overall, it’s a solid bed frame and I’d recommend it—just keep an eye on the price before purchasing.

This bed frame and headboard exceeded our expectations. Sturdily built, and reasonably easy to assemble, it looks great in our guest bedroom. The manufacturer of this bed got everything right. It included tools and even extra bolts and nuts just in case you need it. It arrived packaged carefully, and after getting it out of the box, it was not difficult to understand the directions. We ordered the darker color to match some of the furniture in that bedroom, and the color was exactly what was described. I certainly recommend this product.

I don’t write many reviews. However I was so impressed with this bed. It was impeccably packaged and every single piece was in perfect condition. The pieces were numbered to help with assembly and actually fit together tightly. I was able to go from box to bed in under two hours. The instructions were clear and in giant font on heavy paper - which I really appreciate!! The bed is so solid and so much nicer than I thought for the price.

This frame is made out of really nice wood! I literally put it together in one hour by myself. I took before and after pictures and they were exactly one hour apart. It came with lots of extra hardware, or I just made it better. It sits a little lower but we also got rid of our box spring. This does not accept a box spring but I was aware of that. I just used a couple of shoe boxes to support the long edge board while I screwed the Allen in the headboard so it wouldn’t stress the wood. It came with a nice little ratchet tool, I used my drill bit it has a torque adjustment I turn way down, then cinched them snug with the tool provided. The instructions have no words but they don’t need any. Very clear very easy to follow. It has a lot of room underneath which surprised me because it looks like it sits a few inches off the floor. For Amazon furniture I’m very happy with it.

I am so happy with this bed frame. I dread the assembly of 'furniture in a box', but this brand does an excellent job at labeling the parts and explaining how to put it together. I also ordered two night tables from this company and it was the same experience. So easy to put together. I actually put the night tables and the Queen size bed frame together myself. It didn't take long at all and it was totally possible for one person to do it. It also looks modern and really solid. So much better value for money than IKEA.

Easy to assemble as all the pieces are labelled. All fit together correctly. Sturdy wood platform bed. The color is very close to what was shown online. The headboard is not too high which is what we wanted. Overall a solid purchase for the price.

Extremely well packaged to protect against damage while in transit. The instructions were clear and well presented. Bed is sturdy and doesn't "wobble" at all. It supports my memory foam mattress quite well. Very satisfied with my purchase.

Amazing bed for a great price. Purchased on a Sunday and delivered on Friday. We are very impressed such quality for the price we have a king size. It was very very easy to put together and they offer extra part (screws and washers) just in case. Nice quality wood very sturdy at such a great price compared with local furniture stores. Bought this bed in a queen for our master bedroom. Was one of the only bedframe I found that was within our budget and didn't need a box spring under our foam mattress. Overall, we are happy with the product. We like the look, although the head board is on the low side. Also, the space between the base of the bed and the bottom of the headboard is a little short. You can fit at most a 8" mattress. As soon as your mattress is 10 or 12", it will hide part of the headboard and not much of the headboard will stick out on top of the mattress. Apart from that, the bed is easy to assemble and pretty solid. Overall a good buy!
