The Pen Sander PS 13 is great!
This is an EXCELLENT little pen sander that works exceptionally well at sanding into those hard-to-get places. Don't force it, just let it do it's thing. You'll need extra sanding replacements because it goes through them fairly quickly, but even the rougher sandpaper leaves the wood at virtual finishing condition. You can save on replacing sand paper by turning them on the sanding heads. They stick really well, even when turning them to use the other end of the sandpaper. If I had to do it all over again, I'd still get this but without wondering if it was going to do the fine sanding like I hoped it would, because it's great. One thing, it is 12-volt, so you'll have to get their transformer for this to plug into for it to work since it will not plug into the wall plugs. This is the only possible downside to this, but it's worth it for how well this works.

Love Proxxon products. You can really get into tight spaces.

Works well, must modify to use with common power supplies.
The sander is very light which makes it feel cheap but everything fits well and functions solidly which speaks of quality. I swapped to a standard lighter socket plug for a more universal power supply availability. I bought it for paint touchup and inside edge detail sanding and de-burring. It seems to work well on the aluminum I've tested it on. I found it can get acceptably precise small sanding areas for paint chip prep by tilting the sander so only part of the stroke contacts the work surface.

Elegant little tool
I bought this sander for work on a particular model ship project (to sand in the camber of the main decking), and boy, am I glad I got it! This piece gets into places and speeds up finicky work like you wouldn't believe. The control and agility of the thing allow you to work very rapidly and exactly, once you get the feel of it. One suggestion, both to the manufacturer and the buyer: Courser-grit pads would be welcome, instead of having to glue them on yourself. There are places to get into that need a more aggressive touch, and the lighter-grit wears quickly. All in all, if you work on miniature projects, this thing is indispensable.

Absolute garbage, dead in FIVE MINUTES!!!!
Dead after five minutes. I bought this a couple years ago but first used it today. It sanded for a couple minutes and then got slower and slower. I shut it off for awhile. When i turned it back on it ran slow, got hot, and no sanding vibration. Just another fine piece of Chinese manufacturing on its way to the landfill. Now what to do with the extremely expensive high end transformer unit. Definitely not buying more tools to use with it. BTW I am an accomplished furniture maker and was using this to build a model ship.

non-optimal
Yes, it is fairly inexpensive, but it's also fairly ineffective. A lot of bulk (need external power supply) for very limited effectiveness. To me, just not worth having it, regardless of size or cost. The plastic abrasive paper shape holders are pretty cheesy, and you would think they could remove them from the molding sprues before packaging and sending. I have a couple of other Proxxon tools (Dremel clone, drill-press mount for that, and a pana-vise clone) which are serviceable, albeit not awesome or anything. The fact that they think this is a useful device has me a bit worried about them. I will think at least twice before buying another tool from them.

Surprisingly powerful and useful!
I bought the Proxxon micro sander because I hate sanding my 3D printed objects prior to finishing. To be honest, I was quite skeptical about this sander as the reviews were not all kind, but I hate sanding so much I purchased it anyway. I did NOT buy the Proxxon power supply unit as I have a 3 amp 30 volt variable power supply, but when it quickly arrived (Thanks Prime!) I took a chance and wired it to a an old 12 volt, 1000 milliamp Linksys router power adapter I had on hand. This so far has worked out fine for my usage. The sander is more powerful than I had expected and is actually useful for sanding my plastic models! I was worried that it might tend to melt the plastic, a problem I encountered when using dremel type tools for sanding, but the Proxxon, with its 'side-to side' motion does not overheat the plastic unless you really force the issue. I am glad I decided to try out this great little sander, it makes finishing a much less arduous task!

Are you lazy like me?
I'll be the first to admit I have lots of ambition in theory but in reality, when it comes to project completion, I lack motivation. I start a project all ready to go but when it gets difficult, I take an extended break. Yeah, lazy. But at least I know it and got this tool to make my extended breaks less extended. See, this tool helps me in my furniture restoration projects. I hate the sanding part of the restoration but in the tiny crevices or difficult angles, this thing makes life so much easier! I actually don't hate sanding as much. You do need to purchase the power source for the US, but you can bet, if you are lazy like me, it's well worth it. See, I buy the adhesive rolls of sandpaper and make my own sandpaper pieces. This way, I save a ton of money and get any grit I need. It is a pain in the booty to do but when I think of all the money I've saved doing so, it's worth it. I just cut a bunch in my spare time so it's ready to go when I need it. So, moral of this long review, be lazy and get this thing to make your life easier.

Single best product I've ever purchased on amazon. If you are post-processing SLA or FDM prints and you want a quicker more accurate way of sanding just buy this. I contemplated it for way too long, could've saved myself a lot of sandpaper and energy. I don't even mind that you have to buy the power pack separately as together they still come to a decent price. Just make sure you buy the power pack with the alternating speed dial and don't bother with the sandpaper stickers they come with, buy sandpaper sponges https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B0CWRTZ325?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_fed_asin_title&th=1 and cut them to size and glue gun them onto the plastic sticks.

Don’t be a weirdo and think that you can use this to sand a chest of drawers or something : it’s a Precision Sander For Very Small Bits. I use it when getting into tiny edges or corners for dollhouse or miniature terrain and it works a treat. You do need the 12V transformer tho so be aware it doesn’t work on mains power.

Tried it a bit and it works great so far. I'll use it sparingly for 3D and resin prints. A warning though. This can not be connected to a normal socket as it needs an adapter. Proxxon sells one but you can hack one together if you want. It needs 12V 2A power. I used an old ATX PSU from a compuer, shortened the PS_ON pins to turn it on and used one of the 12V cables to attach the power and GND to the sander. Not pretty and very bulky but it works.
