Kosta Boda Mine White Decorative Plate, 7.9" Diameter

I purchased the Mine series dinner plate, salad plate, and bowl from a few websites and sellers on amazon with the idea of mixing and matching the blue, black, and white colors putting them in all different combinations. I just started to receive my first of the many orders that I placed and spent a lot of time figuring out what worked the best with our really cool all chunky metal industrial table. I spent hours OCD'ing over it. My husband and I figured out our two favorite color combos and were so in love with how our table looked with the dishes. I give them 5 stars because there is nothing out there that compares to the ethereal beauty of this designer and this particular series. I was so bummed when yesterday I found out that not only are they not microwave safe, which I knew, but they are not dishwasher safe either. Hand wash only people!! What a pain and who wants to have to do that in 2013. I'll admit I don't lean toward practicality when it comes to me falling in love with anything, so I would suggest the Mine collection for special occasions like one would use china. I decided to cut down on the number of setting I was getting from 12 to either 6 0r 8 and the rest of the setting get everyday dishes that are safe anywhere that can work with the mine collection dishes. For example may plain white dish setting and then you can alternate when you actually have 12 people over, do one all white setting for one seat and then use the mine collection in the next seat and keep alternating. When you pick your color combos with these, then go and pick solid plates that work with the colors you chose.

I get that these are one of a kind and will look different, but the one I received was actually pretty ugly with lump of color on one area on the side of the plate and not a very pleasing pattern. Almost no color on the rest of the plate so it lacks aesthetic balance. I was disappointed and I don't think I will be using it much. I usually like Kosta-Boda glass a lot otherwise.

The plate is clear glass with black design. The only reason it gets four stars is because the picture is deceptive. I am using my plate for an entryway decoration so I set it on top of a small white plate, otherwise the black smoke design wouldn't show up. It's beautiful only if you can see it :) fast delivery and packaged well. No issues with the seller.

These are beautiful glass plates, a work of art. These are very nice and heavy, and each is different from the other.These glass plates are not to be exposed to extreme temperature changes leading to stress in the glass and may crack it.They serve well for my needs of a desert plate.

These are beautiful plates at a fantastic price. All of the plates I received had very little color. I wonder if they are "seconds"?

I purchased ten of these dishes from Bloomingdales for a party, at a cost of $25 each. Paid less then half that amount here. These dishes are eye-catching, beautiful and make even the messiest appetizer look good enough to eat.
