Used it on my old Maruti Zen, damped the entire car , leaving the roof, there is a very considerable reduction in the outside noise that filters in. Sound dampening need not be done on the complete panel, only a few patches with a certain amount of distance will bring the same effect. As the volume (decibels of sound ) that filter into the car cabin needs to be stopped or absorbed. And these are mostly Air at high speed which is constant , near by vehicles passing by.
