Ok, when it works
Terrible product. Constantly gives error codes even if you follow directions perfectly. If you get too small of a drop of blood, it will still give you a reading but it will be inaccurate. This likely leads to pet owners mistakenly thinking their animal is having a hypoglycemic event when they are not. It should not give a reading if there isn’t enough blood for the reading to be accurate. The strips are also unbelievably expensive and they constantly error out so many are just wasted which causes you to have to buy even more. The strips cost basically as much as the whole kit. They’re about $1 per strip. If you have a diabetic pet you should test at least 2-3 times a day. You do the math, especially when half get wasted due to error codes. When you do get just the right amount of blood, and it doesn’t give you an error code, it seems to give an accurate reading. But it’s too inconsistent to be reliable. Save your money and buy something else.

no customer support
UPDATE Ipet customer service reached out to me regarding this concern, they are sending replacement strips asked for the details on the defective strips. I will continue using them and hope that it was a bad batch. I am changing it to four stars based upon their customer service, but I will update as needed. I’m hoping it was a bad batch. they also said there was a number to call inside the package. I will have to pay closer attention to that, I prefer emailing or messaging. I will try emailing again and see if it works. If it does not, I will send them a screenshot of how it does not work. Maybe it’s a glitch on their end. original post I have been using this for 3 months, one bottle had 6 defective strips, the 2nd bottle had 7. that is significant when you consider how much you’re paying per strip! When trying to reach out using their Form on their website. They do not accept email addresses from Gmail nor iCloud. What kind of company does not take an email address from two of the largest email providers. I will be looking for another monitor. I do not suggest purchasing this monitor. Find another one.

Must have for home monitoring
I do my own glucose monitoring for my dog. These refill strips are perfect with my meter. I save a huge amount of money doing glucose monitoring and mapping at home instead of my dog having to spend the day at the vet periodically to adjust her insulin dose. My vet also appreciated how these made it possible for me to do a week long monitoring at their recommended frequency which showed a better picture of how my dog’s insulin fluctuates over a longer time than the single day they can do in office. I also love that if I have concerns about symptoms of high or low blood glucose, I can quickly test and treat my dog without requiring emergency care or guessing what her levels might be at. My dog is my child, as an empty-nester, so these help me keep her blood glucose in the most optimal range which extends the life expectancy after diagnosis.

Good size complete kit
I haven’t used this meter yet but I got far as calibration. Trying to set date/time I’m having trouble and shouldn’t. I’ve used alpha trac 2 in past, so I know how to use a glucometer. The alpha is much easier but mine is now discontinued so can’t get test strips. Going to have my daughter, a nurse, help me with this. If she can’t get it set up, something’s wrong so back it will go. I read another review from back in 2020, from Desirie. I felt so bad for her as I’ve been in her place with two geriatric cats, one diabetic, one hyperthyroid. Not knowing her pets age back then, they may still be around, I just wanted to offer bit of a tip for using the lancet. I don’t use the gun with it. I just hold the lancet and poke the ear. I think the loud click scares a cat more. My boy was 17 when diagnosed. I couldn’t get blood from his ear every time in first poke. I usually could get it from the base of ear if the tip wouldn’t work. Reading her review I felt so bad for her cat, and her. I understand what she went thru! Again I guess it’s possible her cat is still around, if so I hope things are going well, if not just know you cared, did all you could for him/her. UPDATE: had help with complete set up. The meter works well. Am satisfied with this. I wanted to update review as I know companies rely on customers opinions. I have also been a direct customer of this company, have not had any problems with any other products purchased in past.

My dog's test strips
I haven't used the kit yet because I have to make an appointment to bring my dog in to the vet for them to show me how to properly use it. They have the same kind and they thought it would be easier if they were both calibrated the same.

Not compatible
It would help if the product listed what machines are compatible. Waste of time
