Mohawk Home 3' x 5' Non Slip Rug Pad Gripper 3/8 Thick Dual Surface Felt + Rubber Gripper - Safe for All Floors

I had purchased a 4x6 faux fur rug. It was wonderfully fuzzy, but had absolutely no padding, and the smooth backing was slippery as ice. I tried a different anti slip pad first, but the rug kept slipping off the pad. This pad solves all the problems. It is exactly 4 x 6 feet. It is just shy of a half inch thick. ( I was going to get the 3/8 inch, but for the price, I decided to upgrade. I’m glad I did. It’s good padding, but I think anything less wouldn’t be adequate.) The 1/2 inch padding is thick enough to make it comfortable to sit or kneel on the floor. (Anyone can stand on these, but if old knees are comfortable, you know it’s good.)What’s really amazing is that—as advertised—the bottom surface holds fast to my laminate floor and the top surface holds the rug safely in place.The rug itself has uneven edges (it’s supposed to look like a fur rug) so I’m going to eventually trim the pad to more evenly match the rug. Previous reviews suggested that it is easy to trim. If I have any problems, I’ll update this review.Otherwise, I’ll say—especially from someone who had been shopping for a good pad for a while—this is an excellent non-slip pad and is excellent quality for the price.Edited later to add: Well, I came back to add an update, but I never actually posted this review. So, I’ll just add and post. Several weeks later and I’m still very happy with this pad. But I did want to add a note about trimming it. As mentioned above, the rug I have on top of the mat is not an exact 4x6. I needed to trim about an inch off the length and an inch off the width of the pad to make it fit underneath the rug perfectly. But it was not easy! I tried every kind of scissors I had in the house. A box cutter just shredded it. Finally, my guy came around with some industrial scissors (they looked like tin snips, but I don’t think that’s what they were) and his much stronger hands than mine, and he was able to make a nice, neat trim. With the right tool and the right user, the mat trims nicely with no fraying. I’m going to guess, when they show the picture of the mat being cut with regular scissors, it’d probably the thinner version and not the 1/2 inch.Still, very happy with this product!

Furniture does not slip now and it is nice and cushioned.

As others have noted, it did have a funky smell when it arrived. I opened it up all the way and put it over some chairs outside, after a couple days the smell lessened enough to bring it in.It's nice and thick, very cushiony under the rug and it doesn't seem to move around - tho it is in a bedroom vs. a high-traffic area. It was more than I initially wanted to spend, but I think it will be worth it if it lasts.

Trimmed this pad to fit under an 8 ft. by 10 ft. rug in the living room. This oversized pad was cheaper than the one that would fit without trimming. Used a carpet cutter and a piece of wood to trim it. Not super easy to trim but definitely worth the savings. The rug sits on the thin pad well and does not show any edges or puffiness. I recommend the thin pad for a thicker rug since it adds a bit of thickness to the rug but still looks good - does not show any padding edges or bumps.

We ordered two rug pads for two of our runners. These are awesome. The grip to our hardwood floors is amazing. Also it was not too difficult to cut the excess off since the runner was larger then what we needed. Also it’s so nice and cushy. So glad we got this!

Made my runner cushiony and resilient and also made it look expensive now! I am very pleased!!! Oh, and it arrived early, what a relief that was!

This rug pad was purchased to go under our Loloi area rug and am so pleased with this purchase!• Backing Material •I love the floor-side of the pad, it has a rubberized backing that guarantees no sliding.• Top of Rug Pad•The rug rests on texturized wool that gives it just enough grab to hold the rug in place.• Thickness •I purchased the 1/4" thick rug pad and it is the perfect thickness for our preferences ... just enough to provide a little cushion but not so much that it creates a weird ridge around the edges.• Size/Dimensions •It is the perfect size - the rug extends 1-2" beyond the pad on the longest side, and 5-6" on the shortest side. I found this perfect because the rug doesn't get kicked up or rolled when walking over the edges. This was not an issue for me, as the rug pad is covered up by the rug, but one of the edges was cut unevenly.Should we need rug pads in the future I am definitely going to go with this brand again.

Very good quality, I don't see this thing moving at all, its nice and thick, makes my runner very squishy and comfy. Highly recommend.

It works great and it’s pretty thick. My rug no longer slides, and it feels better to walk on my rug with this underneath.

We used it over rough plank flooring with a Persian Rug and it was excellent. It unpacks easily, lies flat, stays in place, and arrives very clean with few random fibres. I’ve already bought another one … highly recommend.

Love this carpet pad, the thickness is great adds extra cushioning. Quality is awesome well worth the $$. I went and bought a second one for our runner. It's definitely non slip on our hardwood floors, highly recommend!.

it was used for padding for 2 rugs for our bedroom bay window.very pleased with the product.
