does it work for 2017 bmw?

You’d have to look under the hood to see what type you use.

Will this work for a 2018 Renegade?

We recommend checking the tag under the hood to confirm it is a R1234yf system. If so, this will work with your system.

Is this an equivalent product to the R-1234yf refrigerant that ships with modern cars? The description is vague.

Yes but it is a really small can like 2 or 3 oz. So if u are low about a pound then u will need like 6 cans. Mt truck is a 2018 suburban and i thought it was added at the top like the older cars but the intake was behind the wheel at the bottom
