If you want a light-ish arcade stick with clamshell design for modding access, built in handles for picking up off the ground or tournament ease of use, USB wire organizer inside the case, good stock buttons/lever, native PS5 support, this is for you. To emphasize the buttons and lever being good, I'm used to either Sanwas or low profile mechanical buttons and these feel great. They took a bit of getting used to however. I disliked them at first and was already shopping online for replacements on the first few weeks I had the Hori Alpha. Thankfully I stuck with them and now realize why people even bothered swapping these in to other sticks. The case design is noticeably plastic which puts off a lot of people but it's not a negative to me. Makes for a lighter case, and looks somewhat retro. It opens up for modding and storage for whatever you need to bring with you. The cable has an organizer built in but it's not detatchable. The extra buttons are on the top of the stick and not on the side which I prefer. Much easier for me to reach rather than side ones like on the Daija. Speaking of the Daija I returned that stick for this one because of the wrist rest being uncomfortable, the Alpha's design fixes that problem for me. The Hori Alpha is the most ergonomic stick I've owned besides my leverless. The native PS5 support is the icing on the cake, most tournaments use PS5 for SF6 so it's convenient that I don't have to use an adapter for compatibility. I haven't modded it yet but I plan to in the future. For now it's a great controller as it is.

This will be the third arcade stick that I currently own. With a few others in the past. I really like this stick to the point it may become my main stick, over the Victrix Pro FS, and Obsidian. I originally bought this stick Just to have a noir layout stick to see if I liked it and planned to use it as a backup for friends who came over for sets. Never using Hori parts and reading how everyone replaces them with Sanwa parts later on I've never attempted to even use them. Bought a pre-modded Rap4 from arcade shock back in the day with all Sanwa parts on it already that's the only Hori experience I had was basically just the shell. Anyway, I'm surprised this stick is getting less than great reviews, so far my experience has been fantastic, people say it feels too light, I actually find the weight to feel perfect in my lap. The product is made of plastic and Plexi but it feels Very sturdy, no complaints in quality from my point of view, also the ease of access to the interior for modding is great, I've stick swapped and button swapped multiple sticks, and sometimes its a pain, there is plenty of space and ease of access to swap parts on this stick. I find the price to be fair, it's the same as any other top-end stick on the market, and I feel this is a top-end product. It has all the features any other top-end stick has other than having metal as part of the build, but again to me the weight is there and it feels well constructed so it doesn't need it. Another Plus to this stick is the easily changeable artwork. Anyway, I originally bought this as a backup/extra for friends as well as an easier plug/play device since it's an XBOX stick instead of PlayStation. Turns out I like Hyabusa parts more than Sanwa and the Noir layout is different, but I don't mind it so far, and this is going to be my new main stick lol. For me I'm hitting inputs cleaner I don't know what it is lol. SO yeah I recommend this stick if you like Hayabusa parts and noir if you've never tried Hyabusa parts, and you like the look of the shell, and artwork/want to change artwork easily while having the ability to mod buttons and stick easily buy it. TLDR IDK how to do reviews. Stick feels Nice, the buttons feel good, the weight feels good in the lap, the stick feels sturdy, never used Hayabusa parts or Noir layout but I like more than Sanwa. bought this stick to replace my HORI Real Arcade Pro 3 that I have been using since the PlayStation 3. I loved the size of that stick, was pretty hesitant to order this being as it is a different model than the RAP but I loved the feature of easy access to the inside of the stick that this offers so decided to pull the trigger. Overall size of this stick is large, pretty similar to the RAP sticks. It does have a much thinner profile though. The whole thing is made of plastic and is pretty lightweight, but seems sturdy enough. I was hoping it might be a metal frame but figured it would be plastic, but the listing didn't say one way or the other. It seems fine though. To access the inside of the stick is literally just sliding a little lever over and it just swings open. The inside of the stick has all the buttons color code and includes a legend in case you get them mixed up. This is really awesome and a huge upgrade from having to take apart my old stick to change out the buttons. This stick has the feature of replaceable artwork, but that is not as easy to do. You have to take out eight screws and also remove all the buttons in order for the face plate to pop off and allow you to change it out. They have the artwork template for this stick available for download on the HORI website. The companion app they talk about in the listing shows as only available for the Xbox Series S/X and the HORI website says that as well. I found that if you go to the Windows Store from Windows 10 and search for "HORI Device Manager for Xbox Series X Series S" you can install the Xbox app on your PC to use it. It lets you customize the button mappings for the 4 profiles on the stick. The profile doesn't let you map all the buttons though which is strange. You can only change the behavior of the stick (analog/dpad) and remap the two right most buttons (LB/LT). I'm not sure why it wouldn't let you remap everything. Cord is very long, 10'-12'. It has a breakaway point by the USB plug in case someone trips on it. The hardware button lock on the top of the control is cool also, disables all the top inputs/start button so you don't accidentally pres them during a game. I got this primarily to use on PC and overall I am happy with it. I do wish it was a tad heavier, but that is just personal preference.
