Bob's Red MillOrganic Whole Grain Kamut, 24 oz pack of 2

I was looking for an organic whole grain to make organic thick-rolled oatmeal more interesting, and I found it in Kamut. This is an ancient Egyptian grain that has become a popular nutritious item in the last few years. It has a longer length than organic hulled barley and takes about 20 minutes to cook depending on how chewey you prefer the texture. This is an excellent grain to add to soups, and may be served by itself instead of barley or rice. I cook it in association with organic hulled barley, both boiled in the juice from steamed beets and a little water until the juice is thick and almost evaporated. Delicious, and a welcome addition to my morning oatmeal!

Can’t find this grain everywhere but Kamut is great for increasing fiber and nutrition. So I make it with brown rice when I need it for meal side dish or even great rice pudding!

So tasty and healthy! This grain is not the hybrid that were used to eating as Americans. The reason we have such a problem with glucose is because our body can’t break down the hybrid version of flour that most of us eat every day. I cut flour out completely and feel wonderful. This is one of my favorite foods. It’s so nutty and light and filling. I use it anywhere I would use rice or pasta.

I try to have a lot of different whole grains in my sourdough. So I mill this grain and add it in as flour. I am not sure the difference it’s making but it does not seem to change the taste of my bread. It works well with all the other grains I mix with it as well.

I like this grain. But one of the packages came broken. How do I get a refund or a replacement?

Product was fresh and flavorful. Arrived in good shape. Sealed. No bugs.

I like the nutty taste of this grain and its nice having a choice. Get tired of rice all the time!. But they aren't kidding when they say soak overnight! The second time I used them, I soaked them all night and boiled them for 2 hours. I do a lot at a time, and freeze portions. That works well.
