Easiest Dye Job At Home
I've been using this product since I was in my 20s when I started to notice a few grays. I also just loved the color of this dye instead of my boring jet black hair. I used to be asked if my hair color was my natural hair color because it's a beautiful chocolate shade that looks natural, but has a beautiful sheen when the sun shines on it. I noticed that my hair sheds less with this product and my hair seems to be healthier and less damaged as well. I credit it to the gentleness of the foam. It also has less of a strong ammonia smell although it still does have it. I make a lot less mess with the foam too. The foam dye isn't splashed onto every random wall in the bathroom, because it foams instead of "farts dye onto your hair and walls".The biggest pro is that this is easier to use than your regular dye-at-home job because it foams and has a better coverage. There's less chance of you missing a spot with the foam. I have super thick, straight, black hair. I thought this wouldn't work with my black hair, but surprisingly it does. It's not super obvious color on my hair, but I don't want it to be. I want it to look like it could be my natural hair color. I've been dying my hair since I was a teenager and the regular dyes were a bit more work. You have to make sure you do it correctly with a regular dye otherwise you might miss a spot. I also used to have long hair so I used to need at least 2 boxes with regular dyes. This product makes it possible to use only 1 box and have my whole head colored. Now I'm 33 and I can no longer deny I have premature graying. I have to dye my hair now or I'd look 50 years beautiful. Nothing wrong with 50, I just want to enjoy my 30s as I'm supposed to. After all, we are only 30s for a few years and never again. A lot of my hair from the sides of my head is now white and I have to dye my hair about every 2 to 3 weeks to hide it from my husband who is now home 24/7 thanks to this 2020 pandemic. He swears he hasn't seen any grays in my head, but that's because Amazon has saved me a lot with having this dye on subscription for me every month. I did notice though that I have some stubborn grays that won't dye with this even when I leave it on for 45 minutes. It's definitely a new challenge, but it looks to dye most of my grays well enough. I just need to make sure I really cover every white hair with foam completely and for the full 45 minutes. So for now, this is still my go-to dye for my hair. I haven't looked "rough" yet during this pandemic, fortunately. I get my hair color done by myself. As well as my lashes (diy extensions), I also wax myself already before the pandemic, and I tried nail on glue for the very first time this year.If you find this review helpful, please click on the "helpful" tab. I noticed that many of the popular products on Amazon has tons of positive reviews, but the product turns out to be a disappointment. Negative reviews are buried under. I think some of the Chinese sellers have figured out that most of us rely on positive reviews so they've managed to fake tons of it to sell more product. So I'm starting to review products on Amazon and anywhere else online that I buy to help combat that. This is a genuine unpaid positive review and I want to make sure people know which products they can rely on. Thank you.

Why I love John Frieda hair color
1. Easy, Mess-Free ApplicationThe foam texture is a game-changer — no dripping, no running dye, no mess. Many users point out how simple it is to apply evenly. 2. Excellent Grey Coverage & True ColorIt covers grey hair well, and delivers color that’s close to what the box promises. Users with medium natural brown and various brunette shades say the result is rich, even, and vibrant. 3. Soft, Shiny Hair After ColoringUnlike many box dyes that leave hair feeling dry or straw-like, this one tends to leave hair feeling smoother and healthier. There’s more gloss and less damage (as long as after-care is followed). 4. Value for MoneyUsers feel they get good mileage — one box often is enough even for shoulder-length hair, and the foam spreads well. Also, bonus: the included conditioner helps maintain softness after coloring. 5. Pleasant Scent + Lower IrritationMany say that compared to other dyes, the smell is milder, and it’s less harsh on the scalp.

Finally!! A Dark Brown That Doesn’t Turn Black!
I have fine, 2B/2C, low-porosity hair that’s collarbone length (level 7 at the roots, with some leftover dye from a few months back). I used John Frieda Precision Foam Colour in Dark Cool Espresso Brown, and here’s the breakdown:Pros:•The foam texture is a game-changer—super easy to apply, way less messy than the typical creams.•The color is exactly as described. No accidental “oops, it’s basically black now” situation (looking at you, every other dark brown dye).•The conditioner is actually a travel-size tube instead of the sad little aluminum packet most brands give you.Cons:•My color isn’t perfectly even, but that’s on me for being lazy and skipping proper sectioning. Don’t be me; do the sections.Overall:Highly recommend! I only needed one box (with a bit left over), the color is rich and true-to-tone, and I’ll definitely be repurchasing. Bonus points for making my hair feel soft and shiny after.I’ll attach photos below: Before, After, and Color in Natural Light so you can see the results for yourself.

Good value, some pros and cons
This review is for the 6N color, light natural brown. First let me start off with the things I like about this hair color.PROS: It smells rather nice for hair color and the application is easy. Don't shake the bottle and just tip it a little a few times. Squeeze the middle and it does produce foam which is easy to apply. The coloring process takes 30 minutes which is slow for hair color these days but slower is better as it doesn't fry your hair like some fast acting color will. The conditioner is great, I would buy it as a stand-alone conditioner if it's available, it gives incredible shine.CONS: The color I used was 6N Light Brown and I started off with a light reddish/brown base. I got a darker brown than I thought I would. It's more of a medium brown than a light brown and this seems to be common from the reviews I've seen on the internet. It will probably fade/lighten over time but it's a bit darker than I had planned on. Still looks like a natural color though so I can live with it.Overall, I'd say this is a good buy, one of the better and gentler colors available. It's the closest I have ever seen to salon quality coloring in a box and I've been coloring my hair for 30 years both in expensive salons and at home. Just be open to the brown shades being a bit darker than expected.

Best At-Home Hair Color on the Market
My favorite hair color product ever. The foam makes it SOO easy to color your own hair at home. I have LONG hair, like down to my rear almost. One box can cover it all. Color lasts longer than over brands & spreads evenly. Excellent quality & worth the price.I’ve tried every brand under the sun, but always come back to John Frieda. This is only brand I’ll ever use so long as I can FIND it. Love it.
