This Fresh Prep Slicer/Shredder attachment is a fantastic addition to a KitchenAid stand mixer. It makes slicing and shredding vegetables, cheese, and other ingredients incredibly fast and easy, saving a lot of prep time in the kitchen. The attachment is simple to install, works smoothly, and produces consistent results. I especially appreciate how much easier it makes larger meal prep projects compared to using a hand grater. Cleanup is straightforward, and the overall quality is exactly what I expect from KitchenAid. If you already own a compatible stand mixer, this attachment is absolutely worth adding to your collection.

Bought this as a gift for our 42-year-old daughter and she absolutely loves it. No more hand grating with the stand grater. Sooooo much easier and faster and fit the machine well. Made her wonder why she hadn't done it sooner (well, I guess because we didn't buy it for her sooner-ha ha) Update: While the product worked great, it was missing part of the packaging and did not look like the picture. The inside was plain cardboard vs the advertised black. The attachments were sitting in plain cardboard slots without the nice cover. See pictures for the advertised vs what we got.

This attachment has been such a game changer in my kitchen. It attaches to my KitchenAid mixer in seconds and works incredibly smoothly. I love how quickly it shreds cheese; no more sore arms from hand grating! It also slices vegetables evenly and consistently, which makes meal prep so much faster. The three different blades are perfect for a variety of tasks. I’ve used it for shredding cheese, slicing cucumbers and zucchini, and even prepping potatoes. It saves so much time, especially when cooking larger meals. If you already own a KitchenAid stand mixer, this attachment is 100% worth adding to your collection. It makes everyday cooking easier and more efficient!

Great quality kitchen aid attachment! It shredded carrots and pecans quickly for me and is easy to clean.

Pros: Works exactly as advertised, will grate cheddar cheese blocks and carrots, will slice cucumber (not paper thin, but medium-thin, and they will be subtly curved due to drum curvature). Included in the set are medium and coarse graters, as well as a slicer. 3 metal-and-black-plastic drums overall, plus a white and clear plastic attachment to hold the drum to your Kitchenaid stand mixer, and a 2-piece clear plastic pestle to push the last stubs of cheese in, so that everything is grated. A total of 6 separate pieces in the box. Product manual says push speed setting to 4 while grating, but lower speeds, which allow for more human control, work just as well. Cons: the attachment doesn't angle down, it's level, so anything you grate doesn't fall easily out of the drum. They sometimes fly out, or eventually will fall out, but there is drum build-up, so you have turn off and to poke around with a chopstick to get everything out. There is a more expensive set from Kitchenaid where the drum is all-metal and is cone-shaped so that food falls out more easily (due to the angle). This set is cheaper because the drum is made of black plastic and metal, which costs less to manufacture. The drum is bigger to help food fall out while grating. Altogether, this is not a huge problem, you just have to be aware of this issue while grating. What I find more annoying is that the white and clear plastic part that attaches to the mixer is NOT dishwasher safe. It's very annoying to clean stuck cheese out of it, due to the weird angles. The rest of the set is dishwasher safe. Lastly, make sure you push the drum into the white attachment part until it CLICKS. Always make sure the stand mixer is turned off and unplugged before touching the drum.

This Prep Slicer/Shredder is impressively well made and feels solid in hand. The blades are nicely sharp — the standout feature — making slicing and shredding quick and effortless. It cleans up easily and stores without taking up much space, which makes it a convenient everyday kitchen tool. A simple, reliable piece that does its job beautifully.

Great attachment would highly recommend

This is really a great attachment shredder. It works great. The old white one that kitchenaid had was so hard to remove. This one removes easy. The only drawback is it is not as large as the white ones were. To slice potatoes, if they are too big you have to cut them to fit. This one has a smaller opening. It's worth it to me because I can remove on my owm.

Brand name product and performance. Shreds cheese with ease, and slices mushrooms for pizza too. Hard to not recommend this attachment. Wanna save on groceries? Buy this if you have the mixer already and shred your own cheese for pizza, lasagna or whatever else. Skip the pre-shredded stuff and DIY.

Slicing and grating is excellent, but shredding is horrible specially onion and tomato
