Does it still work as pull/push system (pull to open flow, push to stop) or does it convert to up/down (move lever up start, down to stop)?

It is push/pull for variable water pressure and twist left/right for variable temperature.

Why is this not offered in black?!? IT's the main control and everything else comes in black?

Moen does not offer this trim in Moentrol in the black finish. The trim that does come in black would be the standard Align T2191BL that does not use a Moentrol rough-in.
