This is a fantastic Japanese style German de knife, It comes n a long box nicely packed and has a heavy black shield covering the blade. It is especially made for slicing, chopping and mincing and it certainly does so effortlessly. Will cut meat fish and poultry and also vegetables. I sliced some steak to test it and ended up almost mincing it as I got carried away< I love it. Looking for magnetic strip so can have it on the wall
