Lightweight and Convenient Walking Cane with Seat
I purchased this portable walking stick with a seat for my mom, and she really likes it. It is lightweight, easy to use, and gives her the option to sit down and rest when needed. The foldable design makes it convenient to bring along, and the included carrying case is a great feature for storage and travel. It is easy to take with us without feeling bulky or difficult to manage. My mom appreciates having the extra support of a walking stick while also having a seat available when she needs a break. It has been a practical and helpful item for her. Overall, this is a well-designed, lightweight, and convenient product that has worked very well for my mom.

Works like a charm & very sturdy; worth the money.
It's worth the money, folks. I weighed 227 lbs when I bought it (5'9"), and it's been quite sturdy (and FEELS sturdy) through a trip out of the country and around town at home x 9 months. I have a condition that disables me from standing for more than a few minutes without fainting, which makes being in lines at airports, doctors' offices, movie theaters, etc. impossible; this has saved me. It can be operated with one hand (and a knee for closing it); the mechanism for opening the chair and closing it is smooth, easy, and very simple. The chair seat is small, of course, but big and contoured enough for me to feel comfortable for up to 30 minutes. The one disadvantage for me as a woman is that one has to straddle the seat with the upright part between one's legs, sitting down by lifting one leg over the seat from the back of it, which feels.....unlady-like. To stand up and extract it, my legs have to spread a little. But I wear leggings, not dresses, so no big deal. Just a touch awkward, not a disqualifier. It IS nice to have the forward-facing upright part of the cane on which to rest one's hands while sitting (not to be used the opposite way). The weight of my regular canes is ~ 0.7 lbs; this is 1.7 lbs. I used it around the house before taking it to Scotland to make sure I was OK with that weight, and it's fine. I will say, I'm very lucky that my ordinary adjustable cane height is 34", which is exactly what this is. The height on this is not adjustable (although I think it comes in different heights?). The handle is not padded, being a hard contoured plastic, but I haven't had any trouble with my hand hurting with extended use - the angle is right. I'm so glad I bought it, especially after comparing the longevity of this cane chair to other ones. I've received many envious comments from others when I suddenly pop it open and sit, so I've ended up doing a number of enthusiastic demonstrations for others (ooh's and ahh's from the envious) as well as giving out ordering info.

Excellent option for the right person
This is a nice cane/seat for long walks, hikes and amusement park visits. It was used by someone who has autoimmune arthritis, so some joint pain, but also problems with fatigue. It provides a stable seat when needed, but it is a bit heavy and awkward. It also takes up a a fair amount of space when not being used. To be fair, I'm pretty sure any cane with a sturdy seat would suffer from similar shortcomings. It is easy to open and close, the seat locks open, and the handle does provide some assistance to rise into a standing position. I do like the carrying bag, but I do think I'm going to add a strap to the can itself for convenience. We did take this onto a plane, and there were no issues carrying it on, and it performed well at Disney, but be prepared-you may need to through the extra security line with it. I wouldn't recommend this as a primary cane for a frail or elderly person, though if someone else was willing/able to carry it for them, it would make a great portable seat that is allowed to be taken into places like amusement parks.

Perfect! Sufficiently pleased with the first that I ordered a second for my wife
After actually using our Ta-Da chairs on a two week trip to Scotland, I'm upgrading my review from four to five stars. On excursions, we often end up standing for 15 minutes while listening to our guide. We simply and quickly convert the handy, light-weight canes into chairs, which provides a far more pleasant walking/stopping/standing experience. Many on our tour were impressed and asked where we had purchased them. Yes, they're much more expensive than competitors, but this is the real deal: lightweight and supports us, ahem, "oversized" people. You won't be able to pack them in luggage, but they come with a convenient carrying pouch that can be slung over your back. (TSA is somewhat perplexed to encounter the pouches, which could be used to disguise a rifle or sword, but once the officer sees what's inside, there's no issue making it through security.) I just ordered this item, and haven't yet used it in real time. However, I tried it out. Here's my initial reaction: 1. It's expensive. I don't mind paying a premium price, providing it's an outstanding product. 2. Is it an outstanding product? Not quite sure, at least not yet. 3. I'm impressed that it's lightweight and, indeed, is sufficiently compact to serve as both a cane and a chair. 4. However, it's a bit tricky to actually sit down. And, my experimental attempt was on our living room floor. My guess is that it will not inspire confidence on on-even or soft surfaces. (With that said, the instructions suggest that useage should be limited to even, hard, level surfaces.) 5. It seems to be well made, fairly sturdy, and easy to turn from a cane into a seat. I'll update my review after I actually use this product. So, we're tried this out. It's expensive. I'm not sure the extra expense is worth it, but we're so pleased that I ordered a second unit for my wife. It's sturdy, light-weight and easy to set up. We plan to take this on our next trip, which will be to Scotland. I'll report our experience upon our return.

Game changer if you have any walking issues!
I never leave reviews, but this little device is a life saver. Now I can walk my dog and if i need to take a break, I have a chair. This thing is incredible, sturdy, well designed and super easy to use.

This allows me to go on walks with my wife again
I have arthritis in both knees. Whenever I go for a walk, if I walk too far or fast without taking a break...it usually ends in a flare up. Recently, I walked and was not able to sit down along the way. When I got home, my knees hurt for the next couple days. Been searching for a solution now for quite some time and I'm happy to say I found it. This allows me to take a break whenever and wherever I need it. At first, I ordered the medium size, but it was just a tad too short to use as a cane. So now I have the taller one and it is perfect. I will say that it is a bit heavier than a regular cane but nothing cumbersome or anything like that. It's so quick and easy to open and close. And the seat works! I'm 225 lbs and it has no issues holding me. This thing is very well constructed. But most importantly, it has enabled me to extend my walks by literally giving me the ability to stop and rest as needed. I can now go on walks with my wife again. If you have mobility issues or just need the ability to stop and sit down as needed...this could be your answer as well.

For parent with the beginnings of mobility issues
My Dad is just starting to have some balance issues and started using a second-hand cane when he goes out in public. I poured over specs and reviews of true medical canes with seats before finding this. It has been the perfect solution so far and both of us are thrilled with it. Here are some of the things that sold me on it: Sturdiness. All the seats on the other canes looked so flimsy and the weight capacity was very low. On some of the canes, the seat was barely a ledge. This walking cane has a good size seat with a simple, but seemingly solid catch mechanism. Of course, he does have to sit relatively still and not lean back. But it isn't supposed to be a lounge chair! It is perfect as a place he can pause and catch his breath but not be afraid of the whole thing tipping over. Since it is made for trails, it has wider feet that give it good stability. Compact. The other seat canes are bulky and sloppy looking. They look like you are carrying a folding chair. Some of them have legs that fold flat, but not together. That seems like a tripping hazzard for Dad and anyone walking near him. This one folds up into one stick with the seat folding itself in half around the tip half of the stick. Nothing sticking out to catch on or draw attention. Weight. Since this was made for hiking, it is lightweight. What is the point in making someone who already has mobility issues lug around another 5 pounds? This is light with a good balance to it. Ease of use. Since it is light and compact, it can be taken anywhere. The seat pops open and shut with one movement. Vanity. It doesn't look like an "hospital" thing. It doesn't have the traditional cane handle. It comes in a couple colors. It blends in pretty well and isn't fussy. Price. Not the cheapest option, but is a good value since it provided everything we were looking for. Bottom line: My Dad is more likely to use this, which means he can get out and about more. It adds to his quality of life.

Well, it seems "OK" ... but it sure isn't comfortable! - Disappointed.
I just received mine and unboxed it. I am 5'2 and got the 32.2" model. The height is fine for me. The legs deploy easily and the seat height of 19 1/4" at the front and 20" at the back is fine for me and relatively easy to get back up from. It also folds back up easily. The mechanism seems to work well. The weight overall is good. BUT ... I find the hard plastic handle to be too hard on my hand. I wish it were more ergonomic and possibly padded or made of a softer material shaped to your hand. My major objection is the seat. For whatever reason, the company chose to insert its company name together with a honeycomb pattern on an 8" long x 1 1/4" wide gray insert that runs down the center of the 10 1/4" deep seat. These markings are raised. My boney posterior can feel every single one of those bumps and lumps, making it incredibly uncomfortable to sit on. The seat is approximately 9" wide overall, but the edges are curved down so the actual area that provides support is only about 7 1/2" wide. It just isn't comfortable. Not even for a few minutes. The only thing I can think to do is to use gorilla tape over that entire insert and then add a layer of 1/4" thick closed cell neoprene cut into 3 sections (like the seat) and then attach them with velcro or a contact glue of some sort as a cushion. In any event, it's going to cost me more to make this usable for me. I'm quite disappointed ... this isn't an inexpensive mistake.
