50 Balsam Fir Tree Seeds (Abies balsamea)

Seeds arrived in ziplock bag. I was fearful as other have had negative reviews of NO GERMINATION. After almost 3 weeks in peat pods, we have a germination rate of almost 50%, the little seedling are looking great, still indoors. August 26, 2023: I'm adding On update on my original review. At this moment. I have total of 27 seeds that have germinated. The size is very between a half an inch and 1 inch, with most of them closer to 1 inch. I can not wait for the 1st year to go by and planting them outside.

Seeds were properly selected, stratified, and planted......NONE sprouted.

So far no luck. Tried stratification in the fridge and in moist soil outside over winter. Still working on it 6+ months later. No starts.

I attempted two different methods both with 12 seeds and could not get them to germinate. I first tried starting them in an organic potting soil in small starter cups. 4 weeks they produced absolutely nothing. I then tried the tried and true wet paper towel in a ziplock bag. After 3 weeks I had no seeds that germinated.

After two long months in the fridge I am yet to see one seed sprouting

So far I'm 0 and 100 on this product. They arrived on time, I followed the refrigeration instructions, planted in trays with seed starter soil, under a growl light and waited. One week, two weeks and nothing. We have been starting our garden plants since Covid and had really good results. Can't really recommend this product. Sorry.
