How would this do in a 2.5-3 gallon tank?

I have a 5 gallon and it takes up the whole space.

Is this reptile safe? Will it work in a dry terrarium?

We use it in a fish tank. We had to cut off some rough edges. Not sure how it would work with reptiles. We love it.
