Much better than I expected
I have an aeropress that I take camping and wanted a hand grinder to get that fresh bean taste. It does a fantastic job, plain and simple. But the real suprise for me is that is also grinds fine enough for my Rancillio Silvia espresso machine at home. Yes, you have to set it at it's almost finest setting and yes it does take a little while to grind and requires a bit of a workout, but, it works. The shots I get from the Rancillio with the C2 are pretty much as good as the shots I get when using the Rancillio Rocky grinder. Ok, it's not "top of the range" but honestly if you want something that's gets the job done for filter v60 aeropress espresso etc and you don't want to break the bank then this thing is a real winner.Build quality again was a suprise, it's very solid feeling, sturdy, the arm doesn't come off when grinding, the inner plastic components are strong and solid, the carry bag is nice.To be clear, I'm not a total coffee geek, all I want is a solid cup of coffee and that's exactly what I get, with some decent specialty coffee I'm making drinks that are far superior to the usual chain coffee outlets.

A superb piece of kit.
A stunning little piece of kit. I had done some homework and watched many reviews but really liked the look of this one. I paid £79 which was above my budget but again rathered the look and the reviews were good. It hasn't dissapointed one but. I'm new to this do can't compare to much, but after a few uses, it's easy, compact age rapid. It's packaging is also superb so first impressions were so high. In terms of using, it grinds effortlessly from fine to coarse. I just need to find the right beans and experiment now for taste. Couple of my friends have cheaper grinders at approx £25 which don't compare one bit, this makes easy work of grinding. Like I say, I was happy to go above budget on this beauty. Also comes with a nice bag.

suberb grinder
Have to admit being new to making coffee the hard way :). Started with a cheaper hand grinder (£25) which was extremely slow and hard work to grind enough for two small mugs. This is night and day better. Whereas the cheaper grinder took around 4 minutes to grind 36 grams of beans this took around 30 seconds. Haven’t scientifically sieved the grinds to check consistency but they look pretty good. And the coffee tastes great. Also it’s robust and feels like an expensive grinder. Beans go in easily and very little coffee retained. Only slight criticism is capacity which is around 30 g so just under my regular dose. Although so easy to use can easily refill and finish off. When I bought it it was around £80 which is slightly over three times the price of the cheaper and tbf pretty useless grinder. My recommendation is spend the extra money if you can, definitely worth it

Great experience (except for one thing)
This version of the grinder, unlike the version with magnetic attachments or ball-bearing fastenings, feels premium and sturdy (and looks great too). The feel of the grind is super satisfying and it's pretty quick to get through 13g of beans, which is what I'm using it for.The feel of the metal case is fantastic (the finish provides great grip) and it's a nice design feature that the chamber can be used to measure out the beans, transfer to the grinder section, screw back on the bottom, collect the ground beans, and then you can slap your filter basket on top and invert to transfer to your espresso maker. Very smooth!A couple of considerations:Static: not awful, but enough that I can't help but lose 0.1g from the beans. Whether or not that bothers you is down to preference, and there's not enough of it to get super messy. If you dribble 2-3 drops of water in the beans before grinding that cuts it down considerably. But there is some retention, regardless. Not a major criticism, it is a hand-grinder after all.Grind settings: ok, this part really bugs me. You control the grind settings (coarse / fine) by rotating a switch underneath the grinder itself (you have to have the lid on, or it'll just spin uselessly). It's also a stepped grinder setting, and the difference between steps is quite considerable (going from "can't pull an espresso shot because it's so fine" to "it's flowing a bit fast" if you're not careful). But that aside, actually FINDING your settings is super irritating - because the grind selector rotates along with the burrs, shaft, and handle, meaning there is no fixed point of reference. You can't, for example, see whether you have the grinder set for espresso, pour-over, or french press. So you have to rotate the dial all the way to "fine" (where it locks out), then count the number of clicks back towards "coarse" to get your desired setting. Meaning you pretty much have to reset it each time you change your brew type, and if you can't remember where you had it set (during dialing in, for example) you have to start again."Now, was I at 10 clicks or 12? Ugh. Start again..."Super annoying. But if you're only using one brew-type and / or the same beans for the most part, it's only super annoying once.

Best grinder at this price point
This is the best grinder at this price point.I personally use mine at 15 clicks for Aeropress and the grinds are super consistent and grinds very easily. For V60 I grind at 18 clicks and it's super easy.14g of medium roast coffee takes me around 25-30 seconds which is super speedy.ProsBuilt very wellHas a good weightGood texture (nice and grippy)Grinds quick and consistentlyConsHas about 0.2-0.3 g retentionHas a bit of static

Makes great coffee, but poor build quality - breaks with normal usage after short time
This grinds coffee well, but shatters with normal usage. The thin plastic lid breaks after turning the grinder, in a normal fashion, after a few weeks of use. The handle also fell off.

Great quality hand grinder - one of the best at this price point
I have been using my Timemore C2 grinder for over a year now and can recommend this to anyone wanting a decent quality hand grinder at an affordable price.- It grinds quickly which is great- the stainless steel burr set is high quality and has remained sharp- nice solid feel when grinding- good amount of adjustability for different grinds
