I used this under some boucle fabric to make a headboard and it added the perfect amount of lush squishiness to relax against while relaxing in bed!!

The thickness on this quilt, batting IS 1/2 inch... However when you unpack it, it appears to be only one quarter of an inch. I think the reason a lot of reviewers are saying it is so thin is because it arrives very tightly wrapped with the air is been sucked out of it to keep the packaging small and allow for a nice dense cube.When you unwrap it, it is wrinkled. All you have to do is spray it with some water.And toss it in the dryer for fifteen minutes--it loosens up and creates the loft that brings the thickness to a half an inch.So...it is not thin, as some reviewers have said--it is also not particularly dense...most battings are not dense.I received Exactly what I had ordered within about 16 hours.
