This great little device was incredibly simple to use - literally plug-n-play. I had an HP laptop fail to power up after 8 years [imagine-an antique] and luckily I had always backed up on a Seagate external drive...that was also many years old. I fell into the bad habit of using the Seagate to access old stuff from the new Acer laptop....until the Seagate crashed. Unrecoverable. I still had the old HP and had the idea that the hard drive could still be good since the failure was a power issue. SO...I invested in this adapter and plugged in the old hard drive that I removed from the HP carcass. BNGO - everything was still there: all the documents, photos and other files that I was certain were lost forever. Now that old drive is backed up on a higher end SanDisk drive and a cloud backup is pending. This device comes with it's own power supply and brief instructions - which are all you need. Not everyone will have the same good fortune that I did, but for the price this adapter / reader was an incredible value.

Got this to take the memory out of my 2001 eMachines Windows XP Computer and it got the job done. Just buy this, plug it to an outlet, connect it to the old hard drive and boom! Excellent product

First order of this item showed up used second replacement order showed up in the item appears to be okay but the box is all crushed on one side so hopefully it's all right.

Came quickly and was able to use easily (with no knowledge or experience.) Used it with many different brands and models and it worked for all of them.

I have several old disk drives of various types, IDE to SATA and this handled them all. Comes with a 4 pin power adapter (we used to call them “pig-tails”) if needed for the IDE. Build quality is excellent. Very satisfied.

I have used it with 3.5” IDE, 2.5” IDE and SATA, and it has worked very well.

The adapter works great. I purchased the adapter to clean and reformat hard drives from old equipment so I can recycle the equipment.

Glad I got this, managed to get stuff off my old hard drives that have been lying around for a while, also rescued a lot of photographs for a friend of an old drive he had been keeping. Good bit of kit simple to use.

接続部分が野ざらしなので汗や唾など厳禁。エアコンついて飲み物は別の場所、快適な状況で使うべき。古いIDEのHDDが転がってたので確認のため購入。HDDは壊れてそうで無念。無事なSATAHDDの接続では速度等は問題なさそうでした。
