Perhaps they are saying that those who subscribe to this item most often have it delivered every 4 to 5 months.

Is a torn-off piece of paper from this pad a standard 5in x 7in, or is it a 5in x 8in as described?

The whole pad is 5x8 including the binding. The torn off page is about 5 in x 7 1/8 in

Are there any metal pins or staples in the binding?

Updating as of October 2022, yes there are staples in the binding.

I don’t know if they used to be made in USA like it claims, but mine just showed up with a fat “Made in China” sticker on the front.
