Comparable backup brand for dolcela brand Vanilla sugar. Smells yummy!
I needed vanilla sugar in a rush for a recipe and my usual brand (dolcela) was out of stock at my local European Market. I ordered the 6 pack and uploaded a picture of how it arrived. They are packaged together in clear wrap to prevent any moisture from getting in. Upon opening the clear wrap, you can instantly smell the vanilla. Yum! Naturally I had to open a pack for myself and stick my finger in it to taste. Overall it has a good, present vanilla flavor but I do feel the aftertaste tasted a little “fake” and changed from a vanilla taste to an artificial flavor I couldn’t describe. After my quick taste test, it was time to put it to use in some Croatian cookie recipes. They came out great!! The vanilla sugar blended in well with the other ingredients and did not leave an aftertaste with the cookies. PLEASE make sure to read the measurement size/ quantities when ordering. If you are baking a lot, then you will need multiple packs. One pack is less than a tablespoon and most recipes call for about 1-2. The packs are perforated down the center, but still hard to tear. If you aren’t careful, you’ll tear open both sugar packs. To make life easier, use a pair of scissors to separate them before using them. If I had to choose a favorite brand between Dr. Oetker and dolcela... I would choose dolcela. However, I feel this brand is a great backup!

Good product
My mother used this in a lot of her baking. She's German and a lot of her recipes call for vanilla sugar. There's not much in these packages but a little goes a long way. Mixing a packet with regular sugar is so good

Taste delicious as a substitute for vanilla favoring in my homemade vanilla syrup. And, a teaspoon in my crepes’ recipe is delicious.

Great product to have
I actually have enjoyed this product since finding it here. I’d never have gotten this bc of Amazon. I’ve used this for years and years and years but I have loved this every since I’ve found it here on Amazon but I’ve used this for over 6 years and I use it a lot now. It’s nice for me and I will continue using
