100% germination rate from a newbie gardener
The seeds were great. I'm a total novice at gardening. This is my first time growing anything and I got 100% germination rate sowing in a self-watering seed tray. I didn't trim, soak, or germinate in paper towels or anything fancy. I just put 2 seeds per cell in a small hole 1 inch deep in seed starting mix and bottom watered occasionally. Left the tray outside in full sun at the beginning of July super late into the season. The sprouts were up through the dirt in about a week and a half, two per cell just like I sowed them. I then transplanted them into my garden just as they were 2 plants per cell and planted each cell about a foot apart and directed each plant away from the other. By the middle of August I had my first harvest of medium sized melons. I'm sure they will grow much larger if I spent any time fertilizing and adding compost but its over 100 degrees right now in the California Central Valley. I was also told that it was good to pick the first batch so the plant can continue to fruit. The vines are doing just fine in this heat and the melons are tender and have great flavor. I still have plenty of seeds left over.

They germinated!
I followed the direction to clip a small portion of the outer seed casing (scarification), six out of 15 seeds germinated. After scarification, I soaked the seeds for 24 hours before planting. I am happy with the number of seeds that germinated. There was no need to thin out the row. The seedlings are about 2-inches tall.

I got dupe again!
After spending months of watering and taking care of this bitter melon plants, I was 100% disappointed with the outcome of the fruits. I spent hundreds of dollars buying different fertilizers, trellis, nylon twine, and not to mention watering them twice a day. It yielded craps! tiny, white, flimsy vegetable. Not even close to the picture in the pouch it came with. Bogus product! Try buying a different variety or brand, definitely not this one!

Growing like wild!
I almost didn't buy these seeds because of so many negative reviews about how most of the seeds did not grow. I did not have any problems at all, and 99% of the seeds grew into beautiful vines which have already produced well over a 150 bitter melons and we still have over a month , maybe 2 of growing season left! I used miracle gro soil and plenty of cow manure in a and regular dirt in a raised bed garden.

Out of 100 seeds only 12 sproutes
Not a very good odds. Plant 100 seeds and have only 12.

Amazingly surprised! Huge and healthy bitter melon fruits!
I planted 20 seeds indoors in May 2021, planted them outside in June and begun harvesting September and still having many fruits growing. What a pleasant surprise considering that I am located in New England! Also picked leaves for various oriental dishes. I grew them in above ground plots in the backyard. I saved some seeds for next year’s spring
