Works
Used this on my dishwasher that was sitting while we remodeled for awhile. It worked so well I will use this monthly. Especially when all parts are plastic and get corroded so easily.

Clean but didn’t take the orange scum off
This product cleaned my dishwasher very well however I bought to get rid of the orange scum I’ve been having since switching to liquid detergent and that did not come off- guess I will have to get in and scrub it!

Works great, including for stainless steel dish rack and stovetop extractor baffles!
I keep a log of when I use the product so that I know when next to use it--about every two months. Even though instructions say not to put anything into the dishwasher when running the cleaner through it, I also include into the dishwasher compartment the stainless steel sink rack (for our Kohler stainless steel sink), and the stainless steel baffles (filters) for our above-stove cooking extractor vent. We have a hard water supply that coats the sink rack with precipitate, and the extractor baffles accumulate a moderate grease/cooking aerosol debris coating through normal operation; both the rack and the baffles come out very clean.(Note: Before placing the sink rack and the vent baffles in the dishwasher, I temporarily remove the rubber feet from the sink rack, and position the baffles so that the cleaning process liquid can drain out the bottom of the baffles; I also make sure that the rotating wash arms don't contact the sink rack and extractor baffles when the dishwasher is operating. Of course, I re-install the rack's rubber feet after the cleaning cycle and before placing the rack back into the sink.)

Really good natural cleaner for all things kitchen
I recently became the office manager at a new company, and one of the first things I noticed in the office was that the dishwasher smelled like old socks. It was absolutely insane. Whenever someone would open the door of the dishwasher, you could smell it from at least ten feet away. As it was my responsibility to take care of it, I stepped up to the task and reached in the filter and felt the most disgusting gunk that was a weird rotten cottage cheese color and smelled even worse. I ordered the Glisten Magic cleaner after having nightmares about the gunk and reading a few reviews. I gave the first bottle of glisten a try, it worked okay, a lot of the gunk was washed out of there, and the smell subsided quite a bit. I tried the second bottle, and everything was great, the gunk was mostly gone and the smell was mostly gone and it was a huge improvement. Now, after two or three days, I noticed that the smell, albeit fainter, was coming back. When I walked by the dishwasher, I could smell the same funk from before, so I came back to Amazon to see if there had been a step I missed with the glisten, and found out accidentally that this products main component is citric acid. Well, if that’s the main ingredient, why not use pure citric acid, which I happen to have at home (I use it for making mozzarella). I brought in my Citric Acid Powder - Ultra Fine Pure Powdered Crystals - Natural Preservative Food Grade Quality (16 oz) , and put it into the dishwasher and gave the washer a go. The results were amazing. The machine looked just about the same as it did the second time I used the glisten, but this time there was no gunk at all left in the filter, and even after five days, the smell hasn’t returned. The citric acid really gave the dishwasher the final push it needed to being a functional appliance again. I recommend both the glisten AND the citric acid to anyone with a dishwasher. While the Glisten didn’t get rid of the super funk the way I wanted, I don’t think the citric acid could have done the job alone. Buy these two together! You won’t regret it.

WoW! blown away at the deposits, staining just disappear!
of all the cleaning products i have used over the years none have surprised me, in a good way. the effectiveness Glisten dishwasher magic cleaner is amazing. we have very hard water which combines with the soap to make terrible white deposits. before using this i would use a knife to chisel what i could out and then scrub using CLR. no matter how much i would try there was always a lot left over. let alone the build up i could not see inside within parts.i picked up my first of this cleaner on a whim when shopping at a nearby brick & mortar shop. i had hoped for good results but honestly didn't expect much. my expectations were totally blown away! this stuff was/is flat out amazing! the stuff that had built up over a couple years which no matter what i did i could not get out? this did the trick!since i have used this at least once every two months, sometimes once a month. it made our dishwasher on the inside look as it did new, no deposits whatsoever remained. looks are nice but i was more concerned with what i could not see. a simple call for repair can easily cost nearly what the dishwasher cost new. for me going this route was just common sense preventative care.it has been two years since we started using this and will continue to use it as long as it is available. there is nothing better IMHO.

Nice and clean!
We just upgraded our old and worthless Kenmore dishwasher to a new Thermador stainless steel dishwasher. It is much nicer and quieter. We do have hard water which took a toll on our old dishwasher. I figured I better treat this new dishwasher a little better because it cost a lot more money. We used our new dishwasher for about two months before I decided to order some of this dishwasher cleaner. Since it was a new dishwasher it did not have a lot of noticeable smell or build up but I figured I shouldn't wait until there is a problem to start using it.I guess I didn't read the description well enough when I was ordering because I figured two bottles would be enough for a lot of cleanings but it turns out that you use an entire bottle for a cleaning. To use it you take the lid off and then place it upside down in your silverware basket. The neck is plugged with a wax plug. As the wash cycle gets hot it melts the wax and releases the cleaner into the hot wash cycle. I imagine the wax dissolves in the hot water and then is flushed out with the hot water. After running an entire bottle through the cycle it seems to have cleaned the stainless steel a bit. Like I said this was a new washer so it was pretty clean to start with. There was no harsh chemical smell or residue left behind which was nice.

Obscene pricing 50.00 plus gst on amazon but 13.24 from mfg website
The Amazon price is a total ripoff; the product was shipped from some outfit called urban inspirations for 50.00 plus gst when you can purchase from the makers website for about 13.24. I have found that this is a fairly common experience on Amazon; you think that their prices are low or competitive but then find they are not.
