Great Text Book
This was a good addition to my course for anyone that likes a book in hand and it was inexpensive with good info so I don’t mind keeping it.

Good book to have
This biology text book covers all the basics you need to know about organisms, which is all living things in on earth, sea, and the animal kingdom. It will help you understand the scientific method and approaches to testing.I used a book similar to this one in my undergraduate program, but had printed copies of parts of the book back then, and have been promising to purchase the textbook because basic biology is so important to understanding the human body and all organisms.I definitely recommend this book even if you are not studying biology at an advanced or academic level.

Excellent textbook
This is a great textbook for those looking to brush up on or introduce themselves to the field of biology. My only gripe is that a few chapters seem to sacrifice clarity for brevity. For example, the section on the genome to begin chapter 6 is written in a single page when at least a few are probably needed. It may seem counterintuitive, but I think the book would take the same amount of time to read if even a hundred or so pages were added to clarify certain topics.

An excellent book for junior high or high school students
My grandkids, 12 and 14 are home until school starts (if it ever starts), so I talked them into doing an Independent Study with me, using this book. We go through it together, about 10 pages at a time for a half-hour once a week. Then I message them with a few words they should repeat a couple times a day. They are learning something and so am I (I'm a liberal arts major, but luckily took a semester of chemistry in college). The book is perfect for this. It's very well and carefully written, doesn't get overly technical and into too much chemistry stuff. Basically the kids are learning what it means to be a scientist, how a scientist thinks. If you're looking for this sort of book, you've found it.

Not a very well written book
I've been having to use this textbook for my Biology for Non-Majors class and it's really difficult to follow mainly due to the writing style used to present the subject.
