Amazing
This is an amazing interactive book for girls - I just wish I could find one like this for boys.

Easy for Kids to Understand
I really appreciate this book. It helps to break the ice for "the talks" about puberty and starts the child on the journey to be an adult. There is chapters about emotions. There are sections on puberty and female things. Everything is drawn in a gentle cartoon and introduces ideas nicely. I like that it's a full care book. It doesn't just go over puberty but healthy sleep habits and healthy eating habits. There is discussion of homework and time management. I really like it and my Social Worker friends buy them to hand out to kids in rougher situations who may not feel comfortable talking to their caretaker. I suggest you have the kids do it in pencil as they can redo the questions later on for different issues and gives them awesome journaling ideas.

Good Book
Great for girls showing curiosity, especially if they have an older sister as is in our case.

Fantastic
My 9 year old daughter loves this book. I purchased it for her when she was 8 because she was "developing" sooner than most girls her age.We actually have many AG books about dealing with friends, gossiping, keeping organized etc. Every book is tremendously important and connects perfectly with the target age group. This particular book deals with hygiene issues, changes in our bodies, For example, why we grow hair in certain places, why our sweat has an odor, why our hair gets oily etc. There are wonderful suggestions on how to manage it all and discussed in a very laid back, matter-of-fact way. I found it actually made my daughter want to do things independently. She wanted to take care of herself better! We read it together and it has opened the door for questions that I don't think she would ever have asked me if she didn't have this book. This is a must if you have a young daughter. We don't realize that they are noticing the changes and they do have questions. It's a great first step in the "Caring of..." series.

Daughter loves
She loves this journal and loved the book that it goes along with. I like that it has places for her to reflect about how her body is changing. She likes reading the book and now she can write about how she feels about what she is reading.

Relieves Anxiety about Changing Body
I bought the book and journal for my 10 year old granddaughter and Book II and journal for her 11 year old sister. I figured they could each read both books. They loved them. These informative books are a great relief to girls because they explain many things about their changing bodies that they might be too embarrassed to ask about. Also, many girls think they are "weird" (remember?!) and these books reassure them that other girls have the same questions/worries and that they are normal. The older girl wanted to shave her legs but her dad thought she was too young. She used this book to change his mind. The book suggests 12 is average age to start shaving but let the child start earlier if she's self conscious about the hair on her legs at school.

Perfect for growing girls
Got my 9 year old the book and she let me in know in no time there was a journal too. She completed the journal in a day and still goes back to it every few days. These are perfect for girls who are trying to learn more about their bodies and the changes they’re going through
